2024/25 Sean Dyche

Brighton who have beaten us, United and got a point away at Arsenal.

Spurs away who we never beat

Bournemouth was horrible I agree however we dominated the game and could have been another two goals up. What happened was a freak, that’s why it’s never happened before. They brought on players with 10 mins left and somehow crossed the ball three times and scored three times, two of the headers against experienced defenders who tower over them. A complete freak.

The only thing I wasn’t happy about was the subs he didn’t use, but everyone has their own take. My take is he wasn’t defensive enough for the last 10 mins. Other people have said why take N’diaye and Dom off, so everyone is different. Personally I would have used all 5 subs and got 5/4/1 with ten mins left and saw out the win, but I would have been criticised for being far too defensive.

Sean has to get results, he knows that, but I’m certainly not advocating to get rid of him and start again, again. I’m just so bored of the merry go round, we get rid of him, Moyes comes in, does well for a bit, then we get beat in every derby and every game against the big 6, we go Uber defensive and start to nick games 1-0, then the wheels fall off, everyone wants Moyes gone, then we have a new fella come in left with all Moyes’ signings from January and trying to get the best out of Antonio and Vlasic. Just can’t be bothered with it.
He’s a stubborn favorite playing past his sell by date chucklehead who throws points out the window by being inflexible and idiotic with his decision making. Then he spews the garbage highlighting everyone else’s failures except his own which are obvious for everyone else to see.

I’d say see where we are after ten games. I know that’s a lot of games but see how many points we’re on and how many the teams around us are on, as we’ll get a clearer picture of how bad it’s going unless wins are picked up. Although if we still haven’t got a win after the next three games, I do think panic alarms need to be rang and he should be ousted.
So not 10 hakes then
I’d have got rid on Sunday, he’s here for the next 4 now, so let’s see what happens

Of course you are presuming that he will keep us up?
His record tells us that he is as capable of relegation as survival.
As well as getting Burnley into Europe once , he also relegated them twice .
His abilities are vastly overrated at times.

If it goes really belly up after the next three and we still have no wins, then he should be gone but we can only wait and see like you say.
Even if we lose the next three games, unless the players look like they have downed tools, I can’t see anyone else more likely to keep us up than Dyche… other than maybe moyes. But it would be a difficult return for moyes. Not sure that most managers would want this job, those that do probably eyeing the salary, and a ready made excuse it it goes wrong “shambles, no investment, decade of decline”
We were 10mins away from from being 13th.
The football isn’t great, but most of the game on Saturday was a decent.
We have a terrible hand of cards at the minute. Dyche is playing them unexcitingly, but not being rash. We need to stay in the game and hope we have more investment next season. And then maybe a new manager bought in.

Whilst he was quite annoying with his cliches and soundbytes, he was part of the club that wasn’t necessarily abhorrent because he was doing what was needed, and dropping in the odd compliment about the fans.

With recent comments about the fans and recent performances, he’s now cemented himself as just another bad thing related to the club, along with Mosh, PSR, Leicester City, Masters, headlocks, Michael Keane, loan interest, 777, Textor’s Palace shares, Doms contract situation, right back situation, badges falling off kits, VAR corruption etc etc

He’s put himself in that list. Terrible couple of weeks for him and entirely self inflicted 👎

It’s been an awful start, performances have been rank. I still think on what he achieved last season under the most difficult conditions means Dyche has earned the right to be given time to turn this around.

One of the key fundamentals of when a project is going wrong is to stop it. Rather than watch it carry on because of past performance
Its not working. He's toast here.

I think that all depends on what’s happening behind the scenes and in training. Results on the pitch are not the only measure for the project. If he’s ’lost the dressing room’ as they say, then yes he’s done. Three bad results do not have to define the season. Unlikely as it is, if we pick up even a draw at Villa people will start to relax a little. A decent run of form for 3-4 games and everything would look different. Moyes being the most likely option might steady the ship and keep us up, but not the long term answer (same as Dyche). Potter maybe a good option longer term but not sure he could deal with turmoil behind the scenes which could see us relegated, he certainly struggled at Chelsea.

I agree. Ironically if the worst happens and we go down and have to rip the squad apart and restart then I think Potter would be a great choice.

Good to have some sensible posts amongst the madness.
