Doesn't there have to be gardening leave clause agreed in the contract, to put someone on gardening leave.

I really don't know mate for certain mate, I wouldn't have thought so though, in any company they - in theory, could not sack you but tell you not to report for work and still pay you.
 
It is far too early to panic yet.
Last year our results at the start were just as poor, we had a weaker squad and still survived comfortably.

Sean Dyche is not in danger of losing his job, however he may be in danger of not getting a contract extension to lead the club in the future.
Could you imagine, the first 3 league games in the new stadium under Dyche? Another 3 losses with 10 goals shipped! Its hardly the new start we're waiting for. I don't see him getting an extension, but I do see him here until the end of this season once we start clawing back some points.
