2024/25 Sean Dyche

Palace were shocking second half. Fair play to the dinosaur for dropping lindstrom at half time. Good decision.
And I do think regardless of performances and results that’s what drives fans a little nuts. The job in the 90 minutes is to make decisions whether they cube tactical or purely personnel that the manager thinks will effect a positive change on the outcome. Not all decisions will work, but have a go. Don’t keep the player(s) stinking the gaff out until the 80th minute so as much as he’s been poor in that regard, he did make a good call yesterday and he deserves credit for that.

No one is making out Dyche is some genius just by pointing out a fact that he’s starting players that some people said he would never play this season.

People can’t go around making binary sweeping statements like ‘he doesn’t play young players’ ‘he won’t play new signings’ ‘he won’t drop Keane’ ‘he’ll never drop his favourites’ then when he does all these things just come out with a never ending list of caveats for every single one.

Iroegbunam (who some people said wouldn’t even play) Mangala Ndiaye Lindstrom all have, and are seemingly likely, going to see significant game time in the starting 11 this season, there‘a no caveats around that, I’m sorry it doesn’t fit the convenient narrative.
Ndiaye looks are most talented footballer what wouldn’t he play ?? I’ve explained why Tim was picked let’s see how many games he plays now we’re getting Every one back and fit. Mangala liked miles off v Southampton and again we didn’t have a lot of options v Leicester.

Ha ha, he dropped Keane yesterday For the first time yesterday because our best CB by a mile was back
But a 17mil CB hasn’t had a kick as Keane has played every game while we’ve conceded like mad, these are facts, not caveats

"Dyche lovers" describes people who see things in the round - that he's landed here with a thankless task and no cash or even support above him from a stewardless, rudderless club to save one of the great English football institutions from relegation - at a point when the British football media and the powers that be in the Premier League were determined to see us into the Championship.

If he keeps us up for the third season running - which he will - he'll have completed a remarkable story in this club's history. To walk into this catastrophe and keep his nerve and see us through to new ownership and a new stadium is a fantastic achievement.

The stick he's getting reflects on his detractors much more than it does on him. He'll get a standing ovation at the end of the season and he'll be wished all the best by the vast majority of Everton fans for what he's managed to do here.

Once the new owners are in place, he won’t be here to get waved off for anything other than his P45.

Vault me.

Dyche isn't the long term answer for me I'm afraid. I'm hoping we can pick up points whilst he is still here but there has to be a plan for when Friedkin comes in and I'd like to think he's setting those plans up in the meantime. Ideally, a new manager in time for the January transfer window.

He won’t get a standing ovation. And I’m hoping he doesn’t manager the last ever game in our ground. What a stain on our history. Sean dyche managing the last ever game at goodison park.

He also want ever get a club as big as Everton again.

Interesting in the iNews article that Thelwell apparently has a chance of being kept on longer term but Dyche doesn’t. Think Thelwell does deserve a crack with an actual budget without one hand tied behind his back, Dyche on the other hand has shown his limitations and I’ll be delighted when he’s replaced.

He will keep us up so we can be sure to still be in the premier league for the first season at the new stadium.

Absolutely getting sacked though, it's obvious he can't take us further than 10-12th, which is an improvement on previous years but not acceptable long term.

I have every confidence in our new owners to bring someone more competent in to lead us out next season 😎

You've truly gone down the rabbit hole to find the lowest bar now. Sounds like a load of theatrical fluff that old Bill would've been proud to promote. When is the 'Remarkable Story in this Club's History' DVD coming out?

His job is to coach and manage the players. The only one who has noticeably improved is the one he said he didn't coach and let him get on with it. Ollie Watkins has praised the individual coaching sessions for his improvements and Onana chose Villa for the same. Dyche has enough talent to not be scraping survival.
All the rest is not relevant and doesn't concern him, by his own admission and self praise. Just because we had two very poor managers before him doesn't mean it is a major achievement to keep Everton in the PL.

For what it's worth I'll wish him well too, but not for any great achievement just because he hasn't failed. Will be glad he's gone though.

If he can see through this season, it can only be a positive in that 1) he’ll be kept for this season as we are safe and in no risk of relegation and 2) it allows the new owners and DoF (if that is Thelwell) or someone new, to plan properly in terms of profile of players recruitment to match the profile of coaching recruitment. It really does allow time to plan appropriate and hopefully we can start to recruit a little in January with this in mind and then some more in Summer, to allow a new coach to bed in for pre season. (Hopefully the pre season schedule can be looked at as well)
