2024/25 Sean Dyche

Isn't 25% a quarter so 1 minute divided by 15 secs = 25%/1 quarter............just asking
Yes, 25% is a quarter. But in you calculation, one side has 15 seconds and the other side has four lots of 15 seconds (1 minute). This means that there are five lots of 15 seconds split between 1 for Everton and 4 for Southampton. So in you calculation Everton had 1/5 (20%) the possession and Southampton had 4/5 (80%).

The correct ratios for 25% possession are 3:1. I.e Southampton had the ball for 3 minutes for every minute that Everton had it.

No less crap but more mathematically correct

His dour, defeatist attitude that he loves to project to the media to make himself look better has spread to the players. We believe we’re the underdogs in every single game we play and basically surrender to the opposition as soon as we concede a goal. He needs punting as soon as possible because he is done here, he is categorically not turning this around. He is finished, it’s over. Stop wasting games of football because we really cannot afford to.

there has to be a very real question over Dyche and if Thelwell is doing his job properly, he should be using the next few days before the Leicester game to speak to managers who they have an interest in.

That’s the very least you could expect.

That being said, Thelwell himself is in his last year of his contract so who knows if he is even bothered himself anymore

Give Dyche a chance, he has many times in the past risen from the dead by winning a sequence of matches. Its too soon to panic and have a knee jerk reaction
15 games without a win last season, can't pass a ball for more than 3 or 4 passes 25% possession in everygame regardless of the opposition and can't keep a lead or a clean sheet its not kneejerk just basic common sense.

It's just the same old crap under different wording to the knives to gunfights from Moyes or the expected defeats from Moshiri.

We saw how over time that attitude killed us in any away v a top 6 side under moyes. We saw how it allows players to mail in an expected defeat and leads to games like Chelsea last season or spurs this.

The attitude of players spreads from the to down, whilst Dyche may think these answers and this mindset is protecting him - it has spread to the squad and that's very very worrying or should be for Dyche now.

Should change him right now, get in a progressive manager who can instill belief in the players that they're capable of much more than 25% possession at home and playing the last 15 minutes for penalties v a similarly winless Southampton side who'd made more changes than we had.

Sides coming to Goodison should have to earn the right to play their game, we simply sit back passively and allow them to do so, absolute joke of an everton manager.

The likes of Royle and Kendall would be spinning ....

I feel sorry for Thelwell mate, don't believe he's got anybody above giving him the authority to act.

Truly is a ship without a captain.

Our left over tards...sorry interim board who used to be baristas or something less important aren't allowed to make grown up decisions. Of they could this half a clown shoe would be messing up his new job as a subway sandwich artist.
