Relegation is one of them too.

Not doubting he's done a good job but end of the day he stole a march on us, Saints, and Leicester who have had managerial changes and unrest.

We've been shocking but sit 8th and 6 points behind them.

He'll be a novice in the Europa that starts bang after the world cup to contend with as well as the league and cups.

Would slap more dollar on Burnley struggling big time than saying he'll make people eat their words.

On the other hand, how much has he spent in comparison to ourselves?

I agree though that the picture will be clearer next season when we can see how he'll cope with the demands of the Europa League.

This season: Jack Cork (£10 million), Charlie Taylor (£6 million), Chris Wood (£15 million), Nakhi Wells (£5 million), Jon Walters, Phil Bardsley (combined £3 million), Aaron Lennon (£2 million?). Total spend = £41 million.

Sales: Michael Keane £25 million, Andre Gray £18 million, Tendayi Darikwa (£1 million) = Total sales £44 million.

Net profit: £3 million. TV money untouched (excluding wages).

Same side of the coin but how much did Leicester spend when they won the league? No one's clamouring for Ranieri.

If you've got a settled squad with a plan and take your opportunities when others aren't, you do pretty well regardless of spending.

Moyes did it most of his career here until he hit the glass ceiling.

The rs B in L said 'you need somebody like that Dyche, hes sound'
Would you have him?
Cue tumbleweed no answer from rs B in L

So for that reason, I'm out.
Edit; Unless somebody comes along that Mosh fancys enough to give him a rush of blood to the wallet...Sams the man - for now.

Ranieri rose the crest of the wave that started with the escape the season before

Erm. Not really. They moved Vardy to a striker rather than a winger and he got them goals to stay up.

Mahrez could barely get in the side that year and they didn't have Kante.

You don't go from relegation fodder to champions riding a "wave". It's good management, taking opportunities.

Big Sam lite. We’d be doing this all over again in 12 months time.

Think on, Brexitman backers.

Taking a leap of faith on something that you think might be good based on some foreigner that has some one horse race in a third tier league... that seems like the logic of brexit voter to me.

People that think a foreign manager is going come in and compete with, but without outspending the current top 6 are in cloud cuckoo land. We will end up with a Southampton / Watford model. Any success they leave, or we sack them regularly.

Our best best is a long term motivator, who gets the club.

I don’t get the obsession with this guy, I think he is basically Allardyce crossed with Moyes, he has been at Burnley since 2012, relatively settled team, but nothing special. I think we should be aiming for a manager who can attract better players than we have now, I don’t think players outside of the premier league will have heard of him and the ones in this league I don’t think will be interested in working with him

Had a decent season but then so did a certain M.Walker and I remember a manager finishing 5th and getting a manager of the season award George Burley anybody remember him?
