I think Dyche has done a great job at Burnley, however I am not convinced he is the man for us. It would seem like a step back to a Moyes type manager who installed solidity and graft ( which we do need), but it was never going to be good enough for us to make a next step.

Its hard to remember, that when Martinez stepped in, there was a breeze of fresh air, the signing of Lukaku for example, many said it was the fact Martinez had a reputation of playing open attacking football that clinched the deal for us to come to Everton and not have a second loan at West Brom where he had been a success.

Would Dyche attract a similar player or would be still be shopping in M&S as Moyes once said, when he signed Marcus Bent

Just to play devils advocate, Cork has been better than any of our centre mids so far this year and you’re kidding yourself if Wood doesn’t currently walk into our starting XI.

Not saying they’re terribly good, it just points out how tragic we currently are.
Plus it must be a lot harder to attract players to Burnley with also the wages they pay.

He's a good manager but it's a very meat and potato team he's created over a 5 year period.
It would be a difficult task for him to come in, inspire these players and get them playing his way.
And then what? Say we survive, are we then going to trust him with a large kitty of money? I am not saying we shouldn't but it's a worthy concern.

The alternative is Big Sam. Proven to be able to get clubs out of a jam and, at Bolton, put together a team which had Djorkaeff, Okocha, Anelka and Ivan Campo and got them into Europe.

It has to be big Sam. Give him a 3 year deal and let's get him sorting this football club out.

I guess in a sense, you look at the Spurs model, and you then glance back in anguish.

That’s the model we should be following.

They have an ambitious chairman though. That’s our shortcoming.

Spurs went for Vilas-Boas and it didn’t work out, but he was an exciting your manager, full of fresh, attacking ideas.
Bought some duds, but ultimately, he made for pearlers. They built and had a plan.

Look at them now.
Fresh young manager in, in the Ilk of Pocchetino, keeping hold of their best players, going for titles.

We don’t even come near, and ultimately, Sean Dyche isn’t the manager to take us to that “next level”. The reason I’d rather have allardyce than Dyche is that Allardyce will want it til the end of the season. We can use that 6-7 months finding our next man. Our pocchetino.

Instead, Dyche is a 3-4 year contract. He’s going back to 2004, that’s not the way we want to go.
