This is Mike Walker mk II. Seems we've gone back in the hot tub time machine and are making the same mistakes over and over again. We don't want fat Sam, but we want Dyche? 'Kin 'ell people, is this how low we've sunk?

They think he is an excellent appointment because they think Everton are a midtable club who should be happy just staying in the Premier League.

The fans want more for a once illustrious club.

its not really gong to happen is it when you look at the top 6. Look at the money they generate and the squads they have. Its not a level playing field. Weve been left so far behind over the years. You cant expect us to mount a serious challenge without serious and i mean city/chelsea style serious investment. Weve done nothing for over 30years. I think once illustrious is right, now kids and even people in their 20's see us exactly as you say a midtable club. or upper midtable if we are generous. Its not how it should be, but at the moment its how it is. in my humble opinion,

My only hope is that with so called better players he might be able to play a bit more attacking football. Though i suppose it will be better to draw 0-0 every week than lose 3-0

I watched the brief highlights on MOTD of Burnleys win at Southampton. To be honest it looked like they were lucky to win. It was all Southampton. But win they did.
We certainly need this type of win (luck) right now. But I'm under no illusions of the type of football we'd be playing under Dyche.

Spurs and Leicester have.

That still doesn't stop you from being able to compete, be solid and combative against the top side's rather than cower.

Additionally doesn't stop you from challenging for cups.

Spurs haven't spent anywhere near the other top clubs. Neither have Atletico Madrid for eg. But they compete.

That is mainly down to the appointment of the manager.

We need clean sheets and wins right now. We need a manager with premier league experience who can hit the ground running. Not someone who may well be a good manager but will take take to adjust.

When teams like Brighton and Huddersfield are winning games the risk of staying in the bottom 6 is greater than ever.

Leicester City won the league. They were considered relegation fodder the year they won it. They didn't need the money of the top 6, they needed canny acquisitions and a good manager to bring it all together.

Now, I'm not saying we can do that any time soon, but shocks do happen from time to time. However, with someone like Dyche there's absolutely NO chance we can do that at any point.

And he talks in the third person. I cannot abide that.

I doubt even Guardiola could get us winning the league, tbh.

Dyche isn't great but he's a more realistic option than Tuchel, and he's kept Burnley up, he could do it with us.

Dyche has had a good couple of months. If we were in the same position last season, his name wouldn't be mentioned.

Forever punching above our weight and Dyche is the perfect fit.

Was he? When he got them relegated and could've been fired I didn't see anyone saying he was excellent.

Done well at being 5 years at a club and building. He'll have 12 months here to prove himself. See Mr Moyes at United.

Dyche has five good years at Burnley. The first time they were promoted, he didn't have the resources to stay in the Premier League. But Burnley stuck with him and they went down in good order.

The climbed up again and are steadily improving. Where are Blackburn, Blackpool, Bolton and Wigan now?

If we are going down the dire, grinding, drab anti-football route, Fat Sam is a much better bet than Dyche. Exactly the same attributes but far more experienced and a proven record. He's just more palatable than the loathsome corrupt turd that is Allardyce.

It would be a genuinely amazing achievement for Moshiri to take us back to early Moyes levels in the space of 18 months. A classic lesson in be careful what you wish for.

I looked at the stats for Burnley low possession and one shot won 1-0 yes we would take that now but if we start winning do we want to be bored rigid?

He didn't play like that in the Championship. He now has to compete in the Premier League on a tiny budget.

What makes you think he would play like that at Everton? But it does show that he can organise a defence.

Bolton Blackburn and Wigan stayed in the premiership a long time and went down hill after their best managers for a number of years (Big Sam, Martinez, Hughes) stayed long term.

They also had changing owners who are pretty awful off the field.

Burnley are steady. Steady owners, kept a steady manager in a job, not expecting much. Bournemouth didn't have the resources but survived.

It's all "steady".
