So who should we go for? Being honest it is between Dyche, Big Sam or Moyes? Take your pick out of the three candidates, I pick Dyche, no point picking someone that has no Premier League experience or isn't coming like Ancelotti

Out of that selection it would be Allardyce. But I don’t agree with the process of elimination towards just those three at all. The club should be saying we need a manager with the attributes x, y and z. Then they should be finding the best one given those criteria. I don’t profess to know enough about European footy to know who that is. But Elstone and Moshiri et al should because they are in the industry. I’m not. For the sake of argument I’d want to know that Tuchel had turned it down before we go down the dour survival footy route.

So you'd rather stay mid-table than have a blistering PL-winning season then slip back to mid-table?

Without middle-eastern billions being poured into our club we'll not be a CONSISTENT challenger. But that doesn't mean we can't have a season of brilliance here and there.

Leicester was an oddity but calling it a fluke is unfair. No team deserved it more that year.

this makes no sense. im simply stating we do not have the finances or squad to compete with the top 4 possibly 6. Not that i dont want us to win the league. Leicester deserved it but it was clearly a one off, hence the reason they've done absolutely nothing since. Everything clicked for them and they should be hailed for that.

He has no idea what its like to work with a big club, whose fans have high expectations, and whose demoralised squad are full of prima donnas who pick and choose when they want to play.

In fact his experience at Burnley is the exact opposite of all of that so its very risky.

I fear it will be Dyche. And I just hope he’s up to it.

Nobody can say he’s not. But obviously the other way round is also true. Nobody can say he is up to it.

I’m just so fed up of taking managers over performing at smaller clubs and hoping they can somehow raise that to what we want and expect. It’s hasnt worked in absolute decades.

I’m saying that and I’d still prefer Dyche over Allardyce or Unsworth.

FFS EVERTON HOW DID THIS HAPPEN JUST GET SOMEONE GOOD FFS

It's annoying to hell. It's like the board go oh he did a good job there he will be class for us. And they're not!

The thing Is, this win today and especially the way it was achieved, gives us breathing space.

It buys us time.

Time to step back from the Allardyche Boys abyss.

A couple more wins in the next few games will see us well above the trap door.

The only reason these two were even being mentioned in the first place was because we fell into the drop zone and a firefighter and a journeyman were touted.

The further up the table we go the job will appear more like what It Is.. ..a big project.. ..and an exciting one at that.

The pool of candidates will get larger and contain more quality

Leave Unsie in situ for a while...take each game as it comes.

Sadly I am forced to admit he is not the answer right now...hopefully he will be in the future.

But he can give us the breathing space we need to make a progressive appointment in time for the winter window, instead of the reactionary one I thought was inevitable after their second goal went in

Dyche would take us down, vault me. He is coming into a team with zero morale, something he has never experienced at this level as he is used to having his own limited but hard working boys that look up to him and buy in. We are full of prima dinners that are either past it or believing their own hype and will be tough to get on board with the words from a bang average lower league man.

There's no prima dinners left as Ashley and Wayne have eaten them all
