they'd just won the League so they were high class
We're 18th
Burnley are 8th

Now just who do you think will be looking down on whom?
They are also all paid insane amounts of money and many have played at top clubs or probably think they are good enough to do so.

I wouldn't put it past this squad to think they are better than what they are. They have had people tell them that for 4 years when the truth was simpler. We had one world class player and he was carrying the rest who are relegation standard.

Just no. This has a feeling of when Liverpool got bullied into appointing Hodgson by the media because he was English and flavour of the month.

With Dyche, kiss goodbye to any ambition to challenging for the top 4. It would signal that we had our chance in the summer, blew it and are reverting to plucky old Everton. We have been stung and are reaching out for our comfort blanket. It may also signal that Moshiri will no longer be funding us like he was.

There is a manager out there, who you don't need to pay compensation for, who would guarantee us premier league safety and who would happily leave in the summer with a bonus for keeping us up. But because of his past, this club won't touch him with a barge pole.

We are Everton "and do things the right way." And if that hinders Everton's ability to compete, challenge for the top, so be it. We won the being nice competition.

Classic illustration of the mismanagement they had blighted this club for 30 years.
Because we're making such a good go of it at the moment aren't we?

I think Dyche has done a great job at Burnley, however I am not convinced he is the man for us. It would seem like a step back to a Moyes type manager who installed solidity and graft ( which we do need), but it was never going to be good enough for us to make a next step.

Its hard to remember, that when Martinez stepped in, there was a breeze of fresh air, the signing of Lukaku for example, many said it was the fact Martinez had a reputation of playing open attacking football that clinched the deal for us to come to Everton and not have a second loan at West Brom where he had been a success.

Would Dyche attract a similar player or would be still be shopping in M&S as Moyes once said, when he signed Marcus Bent
I think when a player signs they trot out any reason to make it seem like it was the manager who brought him. He was desperate for a striker on loan and was offered Lukaku by Chelsea. It was between us and West Brom and by all accounts even then it was close.

Apart from Poch and Pep I doubt there's any manager that attracts players in this league.

I have voted no as i dont see Dyche as a step forward for the club. He is a decent steady manager and has done ok but he hasn't been with any club as big as Everton before and has never won anything as a manager other than promotions from lower leagues. Sure he is doing well with Burnley so far this season but that form could change very quickly. Appointing him would be useful to help get us stable and safe in the premier league but i cannot see him taking us any further than that in the seasons to come. If it was just for this season with an objective of keeping us in the premier league then i might be ok with that but that's not going to happen. He is going to want something like a 2 or 3 year contract to consider leaving Burnley and who could blame him.

I think we should be aiming higher and with someone that can do both, i.e steady the ship and keep us safe and then move us on in the seasons ahead.

I agree to a certain extend. Although I think mourinho and klopp can be added to your list.
