Semi Finals

Perhaps just me but, unlike the 04 Greece team, don’t find Morocco boring to watch.

They are clearly happy to concede possession but when they do get the ball think they are quite interesting - much prefer it to Spain for instance.
They remind me a little bit of the Hungary team of the last couple of years

Wonder who the last one was.
Maybe West Germany in ‘54?

Especially as Hungary utterly annihilated them in the group stages

Just goes to show that the Group Stage showing ultimately doesn't mean much if you can turn it on in the latter stages

Italy in 1982 are a great example

3 draws in the first round and almost went out, but then defeated both Brazil and Argentina on their way to winning the cup

I can't see past an Argentina Vs France Final to be honest

Croatia are always dangerous though and Morocco have wind in their sails

I'll be cheering on Morocco just because it'd be nice for an African side to reach the Final, but so long as Argentina don't win it I'll be satisfied
I'd love it to be the Argies just so people shut up about Messi's legacy or whatever really.

Then again they're already making excuses about him and about why Portugal/CR7 didn't reach this stage lol

We got excellent midfield, good defense and keeper (even that gaffer Lovren playing well) but we missing striker and right attacker so badly. Complete hole in our attack, no longer likes of Suker, Boksic, Eduardo, Mandzukic like in the past.

Modric, Kovacic and Brozovic could keep the ball as long they want, but nobody to send to forward

I wish we could borrow Mitrovic or Vlahovic from our ex-"brothers".

How come you’re not brothers anymore mate?

"Brotherhood and Unity" was national motto of Yugoslavia, i think we all know how that ended

Viribus Unitis (With United Forces) was national motto of Austro-Hungarian Empire, another multi-national state we were part of, thats also ended fabulous.

Nationalism is name of the game here in this parts, “Please, Lord, kill my neighbor cow" (popular expression here). We reaching this far is national tragedy in Serbia

I am pulling for Morocco purely to shake things up and have a world champion from a different continent.

Be good for Africa and world football but will probably get a France v Argentina final which is run of the mill meh

Thanks for the detail on an emotive subject mate. Well in. I’ve read some stuff on it and am always surprised by how ghastly the Serbs were in all of it.

Yes Germany got beat 8-3 in the earlier part of the competition and took an early two goal lead in the final but quite a few Hungarian players had started the game well short of being 100% fit and that told the further the game lasted and Germany finally over hauled them. There was little doubt though that Hungary were much the better team at the time,it was a lot like Red Rum beating Crisp in that famous Grand National, tiredness beat Hungary and Crisp not their opponents!!
