Sheedy on Moyes

If you say something under your own name that doesn't give you carte blanche to say whatever you like, it's just better than doing it from behind a pseudonym. It's not that hard :)

You whinged that someone wasnt using a name and you whinged that someone used his own name.

Also you cant whinge about Sheedys comments as its not up to you to judge him. Moyes will move soon enough if its lies.

I don't think many companies would welcome employees washing dirty linen on social media. I'd be surprised if we were any different.

Being named is only really a factor for the recipient of the comment. I mean David Moyes would find it much easier to seek redress against Sheedy (being named) than he would some anonymous bloke that he'd have to hunt down via email/IP address/whatever.

What you say is still your responsibility, whether you're named or not, and personally I don't think what Sheedy said was wise, nor what D410 hinted at.

It did make me laugh the way he started one of his tweets with 'All of you out there....' haha like a dad who shouldn't be on the internet.

Like old people on facebook who write their name at the end of their posts.

For a club that hasn't had a great deal of money to spend over the last 10 years, you need to maximise the chances of every single young player being able to get into the first team squad.

We had what was it 3 seasons almost without buying a first team player? How many youngsters were promoted during that time? The squad was allowed to stagnate instead.

I'm not saying every youngster is capable of establishing a 10 year career at our club, but the number of promising players who departed with less than 90 minutes of Premier league football is shocking. They should have been given very opportunity to be prepared for, and given a chance to show what they could do in the squad.

We'd have all been the first to moan if we were playing youngsters who clearly weren't good enough. The fact is we were/are a good team, there's not many in the academy who are going to make that grade.

Your boss might be an idiot, but I wouldn't recommend going onto Twitter and saying it to the world. Your version of the truth doesn't always need to be shared with the whole world :)

22 is not young anymore. Have a serious think about the level we're trying to get to. Arsenal have Ramsey and Wilshere who are both about that age. United have Januzaj, Liverpool have Sterling. City and Chelsea dont even seem to use youth players. Meanwhile we're kicking Moyes for letting Forshaw and Baxter, who in the seasons theyve been away from Everton have not done enough to get back to the premier league, 'slip through the net'. Theres a 90% chance theyre just not the level required. Rodwell and now Barkley both have/had their struggles for us and they were a million miles aheas o

At the weekend we played 20 years and 2 days old Deulofeu, 20 year old Romelu Lukaku and 19 year old John Stones, before bringing 20 year old ross barkley on, yes 2 of them are on loan but that is a quarter of our first team squad having a combined age of Titus Bramble

I must say, I'm disappointed in Sheedy concerning this, that's why I haven't joined in. It looks worse on Kevin than Moyes that he didn't say it while Moyes was here (and presumably to his face) but waited until not only was he gone, but down and near out at United.

You were the biggest proponent of the Moyes-out argument. Not at any real point did I agree with you - the only manager I wanted and thought we had a chance of getting was Roberto Martinez(!) though I couldn't see it happening - but at least I could respect your reasoned, long-held stance. And if people were looking for any indication on the swing of the moral compass on this one, look no further than you davek.

It's the kind of thing I've been saying since we beat them 1-0. We got our victory, we even got £27.5m for Fellini, Baines didn't want to leave, we parted on good terms. A few choice quotes were unhelpful to put it diplomatically but I think he was already feeling the relentless media pressure. At the time I remember being completely enraged, I was ranting about how I hoped he was a disaster for United and that he'd turned his back on us without a pause for second thought. What annoyed me the most was that he had the upper hand and was trying to exploit what he felt was an advantage, which was cruel. But I say unhelpful because although they painted him in a bad light, there was no cloak-and-dagger Baltimore Orioles style 'kidnapping in the night' of Baines and Fellaini. If he was really abusing his influence over us then surely that would've been wrapped up without fuss. Maybe my judgement is clouded by the fact I was desperate to sell Fellaini, so I was hoping for all sorts of tapping up.

Regardless, no matter where on the scale you judge his actions, I'd rather we had more class. Now don't get me wrong, if they had been flying I'd be a loss less cautious; if they'd have taken Baines I'd have been giving him both barrels. But Moyes is getting pummelled every week. The lingering shots of his haggard, cheerless face watching the 3rd/4th go in are just painful. This isn't some ex-kopite or judas; 11 years of accomplished service. Moments of greatness levelled by moments of mediocrity, but he did exceptionally with what he had - his abilities and our resources. His relentless diligence kept us fighting far beyond what our budget accounted for. Far richer teams have gone down never mind qualified for Europe multiple times. It's snide and spineless to start gleefully joining in the kicking now it's fashionable. Moyes did immeasurably more than Rooney ever did for Everton, yet people still worship that... well, swear filter would have a field day.

Well over at man U there is a bit of a miff that Moyes did not even bother to go and see his reserves playing on Monday night.
Getting stupid now. If he went you can see the headlines (complete with picture of Moyes looking glum in the Manchester rain) and the many ways they could be twisted. He's having enough bad press as it is. I mean you could could either get the joke ones:
"SACK THE LOT! MOYES LOOKS TO U18S TO SAVE UNITED'S SEASON" (The Sun) or
"Taking notes are we David? Moyesy spotted at U18s game looking for ideas" (Daily Mail) or even the more serious
"Pressure mounts as a desperate Moyes forced to look at fast-tracking youngsters into ailing first team squad" (The Guardian) plus the dreaded ex-club stalwart's freelance opinion
"PHELAN: Moyes has undermined the amazing work of our youth team coahces" and finally, the generic ex-pro filler like Savage Says! "Moyes needs to pull his finger out and sort his priorities"

He probably will just be too preoccupied with the mess of a first team he has to worry about the U18s

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley claims Roberto Martinez is a more tactical manager than previous boss David Moyes.

Moyes is coming under increasing scrutiny as Manchester United's disappointing season comes to a head in the next week with Wednesday's vital Champions League second leg tie against Olympiacos followed by the derby at home to City on Tuesday.

Barkley's comments, coming after Toffees under-18s coach Kevin Sheedy criticised the Scot's lack of interest in the youth team during his time at Goodison Park, only add to the growing focus on the Red Devils' boss.

"Roberto Martinez has come in and given everyone confidence. He's a positive man and doesn't say anything negative," the 20-year-old told Match of the Day magazine.

"He's similar to David Moyes as they both like to take over the training session and be the main man but Martinez is more tactical.

"We do a lot more tactical work which is good for me because I'm young and still learning."

Sheedy said all this about Moyes in an after match talk in orrys last season whilst Moyes was still there so he's not a [Poor language removed] house only coming out with it now.
