The blades were rubbish.

They were andbit was another poor game but the win should slightly lift the mood both inside & outside the club (and may also help the confidence for the start of next season?)

Replace Davies and Walcott with a midfield boss and a right winger with threat and that midfield is suddenly functional. Gomes and to be fair gylfi both showed ability to receive the ball, take a touch and then find a pass.

Still need more forward movement and outlets though, a right winger would stretch the opposition more and make the space maybe.

What a nice change to be spoilt for choice picking a MoM. I went for young Jarrad, but Gomes, Richarlison, Keane and Digne were all in with a shout. And we're back at the top - of the bottom half - again. COYB

I’m not sure we do need a CB. We have 4 now, 5 including Gibson.

Keane has been playing alright mate but always has a few howlers in him, Holgate is boss, I’m still not sure on Mina, Branthwaite and Gibson are still young inexperienced lads so I wouldn’t want to go into a new season with what we’ve got there.

How many times in the second half did our midfield collect the ball and turn! It confused Sheff Utd as having done their homework on us in the last half dozen games it was a tactic they had not seen us deploy before.

Stick a midfield destroyer next to Gomes and watch him flourish.

There were certainly some decent stretches of possession for us but we've still ended up with only 5 shots and not a lot of sustained pressure on the penalty area so I'd hesitate to suggest we're making tons of progress. We've got to sort out the creative players. Richarlison is still a striker first, Sigurdsson is still not getting it done from open play and you'd be forgiven for forgetting Walcott was out there.

I know we won but at this stage it's about playing better and you'd be hard pressed to say we are. That was basically a redux of Norwich.

I like tall cb like Branthwaite who can head everything away.
