Cant we have a blue one eating a red one?
Add one of these to it? Surely that's enough distinction to get around copyright.

If evertonians love them and feel they are theirs as much as reds then why shouldnt we use them? Everton is voluntarely giving the edge to the lfc
Few could tell where Villa are located though. Not having the city name (in a two team city) definitely contributes to being overshadowed. Say Liverpool to a continental European (or pretty much anywhere outside UK/Ireland) and they will only think of one club. It hasn't harmed the London clubs because A.there are many teams, B.there isn't a team called London to instantly identity with. Also I've seen London added to team names in Europe, ie. Chelsea London, Arsenal London.
Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Roma, Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven, Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Paris St Germain, Marseille, Monaco etc. etc. Teams that are instantly identifiable with a place. Juventus are the only team in Europe that I can think of that aren't affected by having another team with the city name.
Evidently you're not an expert, given you can't even state how you see they are gaining an advantage from having the Liver Birds as their emblem.Im not expert in marketing but even I can see that it would somehow be benefitical for the club.
Think that looks class.
Thing is, they didn't steal the Liver bird logo. We used it, then chose not to. They decided to use it and stick with it. Simples.
Nowt wrong with our logo/crest. Like most I really like it and much prefer it to the RS crest.
From a marketing point of view it makes zero difference. Trust me.
I would imagine every single 'local' associates Everton with the city. Even 'local' rs fans.Yeah but also a nice slant on what we have now and I know a lot of 'locals' would be happy to associate EFC with the city as in previous millennia.

Yeah, but imagine when a rs says 'wtf are you doing using our symbol as yours?' And we turn around and say 'if ya know ya Effin history?'
The Liver Bird (or cormorant) is a part of the city heritage. We used that symbol before the rs existed. We used that symbol only 1 and 1/2 years after Custers last stand. THATS how fkin old we are as a club.
I am not saying for one second that they shouldn't use it and they should. But it should also have a part in our history.
We make a meal of titles and cups and players etc, but we were born out of the city of Liverpool and should be proud of the fact that we are still not only in existence, but still at the top of the game. The city boundary followed us and not the other way around.
The people of the city of Liverpool have been the mainstay of our support over the decades and it is fitting that there should be some form of 'crest type' design, such as the one mentioned in this thread. Or just a blue liver bird as mentioned elsewhere.
We, as a club, are an institution in the city. The rs, I am sure (and I can't stand the fcks), would not have a problem with us using a design of a liver bird. To be honest we are looking at a badge, possibly issued by the club (probably not due to idleness/couldn't be arsedness) with Liverbird, 1878 and Everton. I can not imagine us using it on our official crest.....ever!
A reproduction of the 1890 badge would make a great starting point.
I am sure you couldn't be more wrong. Not only would they kick up a massive stink about it, they would be ceaseless in their claim that we are looking to ride on their coattails, that we need to adopt their symbols cos they're the only worthwhile club in the city etc. From a fans perspective, it would be a disaster.Yeah, but imagine when a rs says 'wtf are you doing using our symbol as yours?' And we turn around and say 'if ya know ya Effin history?'
