Thing is, they didn't steal the Liver bird logo. We used it, then chose not to. They decided to use it and stick with it. Simples.

Nowt wrong with our logo/crest. Like most I really like it and much prefer it to the RS crest.

From a marketing point of view it makes zero difference. Trust me.
Why?

I am sure you couldn't be more wrong. Not only would they kick up a massive stink about it, they would be ceaseless in their claim that we are looking to ride on their coattails, that we need to adopt their symbols cos they're the only worthwhile club in the city etc. From a fans perspective, it would be a disaster.
We were the first team of the city. We used it first, we will be the first team you see when you come into the city. I love the liver bird, I'm from Liverpool and live in Liverpool, so who cares what the average RS fan would say. If we put the 5 stars on or some crap like that, then fair enough

personally think the blue liver bird looks good and a shame yous never stuck with it but the liver bird is forever linked to your neighbours unfortunately and I reckon they'd rip it out of yous forever and a day if you started using it again.. but it is your city aswell so alternatively you could go for it just to give them something to twist about!

Depends which route you take into town.

That's the whole point.....It is not their symbol.

I am not advocating putting it on letterheads or advertising hoardings (yet). Just on badges - lapel, scarves etc.
It would have no impact on the wider world and would be purely for us, probably on a local level.

Getting their backs up would be an amusing by-product....and is also when we let them know their history.

i agree it should be utilised on evertons badge symbol of the city why was it dropped from efc years back should have been kept in place and used by the efc

We shouldn't even be talking about this. It's a bird on top of a prominent building which is recognised
by most of those who recognise it at all as a feature of the City of Liverpool.

LFC will be the ones who get the publicity and exposure if EFC hijack it. We used it first and then dropped
it.

They put it on their badge years ago, so let them have it. I don't care.

Maybe you should care?
Everton voluntarely letting them have it gives them edge -especially internationally I suppose- from marketing perspective and also cause of it they are associated with the city with straight correlation to the bird.

Liverpools biggest link with the city of Liverpool from an "outside" perspective is not a bird on their badge or marketing logo - it's their name. Those few who don't realise Everton are a club from the city of Liverpool probably don't have a great comprehension of the Liver Birds or their geographical significance.

As far as marketing goes then being known to be from Liverpool makes little to no difference. Athletico Madrid do not have anything like the fanbase of Real Madrid. Being from London does not bestow the global renown of Chelsea or Arsenal on Barnet or West Ham. Citeh's global fanbase did not surge significantly because people suddenly realised the Manchester bit in their name.

This may be a bit divisive, but I wonder if those not arsed about incorporating the liver bird as part of of the new stadium or on the top in some small aspect, are also not/no longer living in the city? Happy to be proven wrong though!

You serious? You do know about us being tenants and not paying the rent? It's never worked for me, then again I've never met a RS who didn't know about the rent. It does get brought up by them...tho they often spin it as "not being able to pay the rent" (as opposed to us refusing to pay the extortionate amount) and we were turfed out and the owner formed Liverpool.

Imagine we had paid the rent...one club city, dominant, unrivalled. We would have been a powerhouse. Saying nothing new here as its been mentioned plenty of times previously.
