Should Ferguson have stayed as a coach or should he have looked to manage elsewhere?

He's 50! He will never venture outside of this club, that much is for sure. The only question for me is how he get's to make that choice.

What a football club this is: hopeless for 30 years and still allowing no marks who played for it to steal a living off them.

Haha the same age as Guardiola and Sean Dyche!

Yet Duncan hasn't as much as applied for a role anywhere. Talk about arrested development. He talks as if he's a young coach learning the ropes.

Your right, he won't ever venture away from the Everton FC gravy train.

As much as i love him, he definitely should have taken this opportunity to go and get some proper managerial experience. It is the only way he will ever get to manage Everton one day.

Caretaker manager, then interviewing for manager, then back to laying the cones out for the U16s - that doesn't strike you as unusual? Just seems very weird and shows he has no desire or belief in himself to actually be a football manager. Or even a serious coach, for that matter.
He is just happy in his work, no conspiracy at all, literally nothing to see here. Imagine enjoying your job - why leave?

There's value in someone the players know and trust being around at least while a new manager gets settled.

For me though after this season it's make or break, go away and manage elsewhere or go back behind the scenes.

Love the guy but he’s hanging around like a bad smell now.
He goes on about wanting to get experience but still here he is.

Hope I’m wrong but looks like he’s just hanging around waiting for the next manager to fail and the club have no other options than to appoint him.
