Let me ask one simple question tho: the semi is in ~68 hours. I mean, no matter who is brought in, can you see ANYTHING really changing in that time? That one point is why I am blaming a lot of this on the board. They should have taken matters into their own hands WEEKS ago in order to salvage ANYTHING from the season. Instead, we are where we are now...

Yes, simply because the players are no longer playing for their coach. Along with team selection, tactics and training (all of which he has largely failed) he's responsible for the collective psychology of the team. It's painfully clear they have no interest in playing for him.

On the other hand, an interim coach (internal or not) coming in and giving one rousing speech might just fire up the players. Maybe not, but it's worth a try.

He's gotta go now, he really does. How the hell could anyone look at whats been happening up to and including tonight and think he is the right man to get this team to win a semi final in 3 days time.

Sack him tonight, get Unsworth and Ferguson to have 2 days with the team and hope to god they can instill some belief in them enough to gave us a chance on Sat.

Yep, I've been saying we're sleepwalking in to a routine semi final elimination. Looks all but guaranteed now.

It's about galvanising the fans behind the club and a manager.

The travelling fans will go to Wembley absolutely dreading it if he's in charge. With a caretaker manager like Dunc, at the very least the fans will not have the negativity ingrained into them at one man right from the outset.

It wouldn't change the performance on the pitch as such, but sacking him would send the message that that performance - and the last two years - are obviously not good enough for Everton; and we need that message sent right now.

No way. My 12 yr old son has gone to bed in tears. He was so looking forward to his first trip to Wembley. Give him some hope Bobby and go at least then we may have the chance of a rebound with a temporary manager
Same as my 6yr old grandson when to bed at half time in tears saying all his mates will be laughing at he in school tomorrow absolutely gutted for him, it's a hard lesson to learn in life, but being blues we've all had to learn it.

It doesn't matter how long there is between now and the semi. These guys, contrary to tonight's performance, know how to play football. They need someone to send them out onto that pitch without fear, bursting with pride, fire in their bellies, and an unwavering will to win. RM cannot do this.

actually, scrap what I said, that's a good idea. How do I change my vote...

With a temporary manager in charge.. we'd have a fighting chance on Saturday though I think we might lose without a decent back line whoever is running the show.
