The sad thing is I just can't envisage a scenario in which he'd get the players motivated to fight and win on Saturday.

If there was someone else in charge you'd still think it was a slim chance, but maybe just maybe they'd get the dogs of war mentality going and all of a sudden the Everton section would be bouncing and somehow we'd grind a result.

Basically, someone else might get a response from the players, I'm certain Martinez won't.

Got to be someone with a history at the club.... Sheeds / Unsworth ....Ferguson ( unless he's been compromised by Martinez. ) The players are culpable here as well ....but the bottom line is... who knows when we will be this close again ! I can't believe how far we have fallen since beating Chelsea in the QF

The RS sacked Brenda after they drew with us!

Being the other side of the world, without cable/satellite and 3rd world internet I haven't been able to watch a game for ages. I would usually listen to live commentary though. This morning I had no interest because the absolute best I could see would have been a draw.

Do we have a player in the squad that hasn't pulled a hamstring this season??

If he's still manager for the cup the most interest I'll be showing is looking at the score on the morning.

For me I'd give Big Dunc the caretaker role to the end of the season, he's got fire and passion and would get the players off their arses. Not a long term choice though.

I posted before the Southampton game (as did others) that if the board didn't act and we went out of the cup with a half hearted performance that I'd be very angry with the board.

Well after tonight I'd be livid if they don't act before the semi- final. Get Joe Royle in with Unsworth, Sheedy and Ferguson to lend a hand, hell get Willie Donachie in, for that matter get anybody in it'll be better!

It's gone beyond the semi now,he should be dismissed in the morning even if it means walking out at we Wembley without a manager.
Let the players sort it out themselves it's there mess as well they have lost any belief in him so let them show us what they can really do.A new man is going to make no difference now so let the senior players step up to the plate.
This. I honestly think the players would perform better on their own than with him. Because they're not 'with' him any way.

Anyone reckon he will actually go?

Nah, he's definitely here for Saturday and our chances are in the bin.

I do think there's a chance we'll have rid before the Bournemouth game though. It'll be best for all parties if he's gone before that otherwise it's going to be a chastening experience. I could genuinely see boos ringing out before a ball has been kicked.

Can you see him turning it around in 3 days??
Mate.....I can't even see him turning his car around within three days...every touch of the wheel would be phenomenal!!!
The slick manoeuvre of the gear stick would obviously need to be explained to the non paying viewing pedestrians!
The explanation to his unfortunate passengers of a biting point of the clutch could take weeks as he explains his catalan philosophy of carresing the window wipers whilst sticking his Wang up the exhaust...will eventually create a positive result to the fuel consumption FFS!!!
If you knocked on his door as a salesman you'd be the one trying to end the conversation.
Get rid....lesson learned!!

Do one, promote from within the club for the rest of the season and go for our number one target in the summer.

That was more than embarrassing. It was disgusting.

I saw that coming all week long, as did most of you. How did he not see it and make adjustments?

We did see it beforehand and I forecast humiliation: sadly I was correct. Baffling that RM didn't play the youngsters, especially after the excellent cameos last game. Would have liked to see Dowell get a game too and at least the kids would have put the effort in: I doubt that the scoreline would have been any worse and, you never know, it may have been a lot better.
