Should you support your national team?

It shouldn’t be forced upon you, but if you want to, it should be respected.

I respect everyone’s opinions, but just can’t appreciate the weird comments calling people out for supporting their country.

The weird “Scouse not english” narrative bores me. Yeah, because Bukayo Saka really cut Liverpool adrift before he was even born.

I support England. I’m Scouse, but I’m also English, so why shouldn’t I?

Well said Barney, get in Croatia as I’m writing this, never forget Pearl Harbour or how they treated Alec Guinness and his mates building the ridge on the River Kwai!!

I support them in the sense that I’ll watch them if they’re on and I’m not doing much else, but I don’t get emotionally invested the way I do with Everton.

Don’t mind supporting England in the competitions. Get to watch a few games with some of my non-Everton supporting mates for a change.

Very little interest in qualifiers or friendlies though, as they’re usually just games which interrupt the domestic season (this World Cup has as well, but to be fair I was quite happy for a break from Everton).

Also, when England actually lose and get knocked out, I’m generally not bothered whatsoever. An Everton loss hurts and stays with me far more than any National team one.

Should be a poll really.

A question is, if you don't support your country in football then what else do you side against your country about?

Politics? War?

Of course it's possible that supporting England's opponents doesn't make you a Putin stooge or active security threat to the nation. I'm just saying it's suspicious.
Really?
Anti Nazis suspect in the 1930s then?
Iranian people not supporting them due to lack of rights suspect?
I haven't supported the UK politically since 2010.

Remember crying my eyes out when England got knocked out of Italia 90, later ones didn’t hurt anywhere near as much and some were just a “oh well”.

Tbh it is a bit the same with Everton, can shake the losses far easier than I did when younger.
