We currently have an American style large fridge/freezer with ice maker, but I can well remember back in the 50's when we lived in a prefab with a gas powered fridge. One of my regular 'jobs' as a 5/6 year old @kev, was lighting the pilot light whenever it blew out (which happened frequently)
The 'pilot' was right at the back underneath the fridge and was obviously difficult to reach for my Dad.
God I feel old! lol
