Not one Baroque-esque era harpsichord in this thread yet?!

I am utterly disappointed in all of you lads!

I don't play an instrument, have never taken lessons on anything (well, I did try out the first few lessons on Fender with Son2), but we probably have 15 instruments in our house. Of course, none are mine so I can't show; them's the rules.

Quick question for the guitarists…. Are you only a proper guitarist if you own about 10 guitars? I hoard batteries and bulbs. Would need a spare room for all these guitars you all have.

Someone once said to me that the correct number of guitars you should have, can be worked out by the formula;

n + 1

Where n is the number you currently have.

I'd imagine you'd at least know how to strum a few chords... Be able to at least read tabs, if not read sheet music.

Although, some people are just collectors:

As a failed guitarist I can answer the questions posed as to why people have 5 plus guitars.
I wanted to be a Nile Rodgers soundalike and did indeed own 5 plus guitars, The first Strat was crap, sounded nothing like him, so I got a Telecaster, still crap and not helped by the fact my instuctor kept on making me play house of the rising bleeding sun every boring lesson. I bought a couple more and a Gibson too and a music studio which was a mistake......my funky rythms sounded like a camel thrutching on playback.
I gave in and never bothered again. Funny thing is I sold them all and didn't lose any significant money on them. So dodged a bullet.
