...I can't see any chance of Lescott coming. With limited funding, CB surely isn't a priority and wherever he goes he'll want guarantee of 1st team footy. RM has already stated he wants to cover the loss of Gibson and Kone, so CM and CF look the most obvious areas for strengthening.

As far as I'm aware you can only sign pre-contract agreements in January for players in another league. That's probably why Martinez has gone on record saying they'll sit down with Barry in the summer. If he could be signed up for nothing now, surely that would be done at 00:01 on January 1st?

Rhodes is definitely a finisher but you need more than that to be a success in the premiership. His all round game needs to be good enough. That's why Hernandez at Utd and Darren Bent at Fulham aren't getting much game time. To play the way Martinez wants us to we need better than Rhodes.
