problem with Martinez is I think he feels like he dare not sell baines or risk upsetting the fanbase as he is a fan favourite, for £16 mil to go towards Lukaku or Remy etc. on a permanent with the jela/felli money and tv cash in the summer still available to add another 2-3 quality players it makes sense to sell with Oviedo showing to be an excellent replacement.

Don´t like all this talk about selling Baines to buy a forward. Baines still has two or three years left where he´ll be in his prime and we´d be idiots to get rid of our best player.

Following the sale of Fellaini and (hopefully) Jelavic we should be well able to afford a quality striker without flogging anyone else.

no way is baines our best player under RM's system mate, we didn't miss Baines one bit when he was injured but I guarantee we will miss barkley's surging runs in the midfield instead of Osman getting knocked off the ball every minute.

like I said a world class striker wins teams titles and has them challenging for Europe look at the RS with Suarez an average side but one player who can bang them in. we would miss lukaku far more than baines next season

Our best player maybe he still is, but by no means on earth the most important or influential anymore, need proof of that, see how the team performs with him out, see how it performs without barry or mccarthy never mind how much it'd miss Lukaku, times change and these days we would miss coleman more than we'd miss baines due to oviedo's emergence and lack of any credible rb back up
