1. Barkley signs a new contract
2. Baines signs a new contract
3. Lukaku signs permo
4. Barry signs permo
5. Defoueoueoeloeuolo signs permo
6. Distin extends his contract
7. Hibbert extends his contract
8. Howard extends his contract

Pick a number lids, which 1 would make you happiest.

Number 4 for me.

More than 3 or 5? mate seriously?

To me Barkley or Coleman re signing, although great news wouldn't IMO be worth the dick tease thread.

Baines with his contract running down and utd trailing him, it looking like he could leave, could well be/and would be big news really.

Other than that one of lakaku, Barry or Deleufoe being made perminent is the only other news worthy possibility. Deleufoe is 99% unlikely, Barry? good news yes, supprising? Not really....

Lakaku would be massive news and very thread worthy, and would make it a very good week to be a evertonian.

Number 3 for me. No doubt Barkley will stay, same goes for Barry. Biggest scoop is without doubt Lukaku.

Said before could be a good signing on monday, don't think that will happen now.

Just don't think it will. Hope i'm wrong but very very doubtful.
Either way even if it doesn't it's early days i guess, we've still got time to bring people in.

Aaron, are you doing that 'pretending to be itk' thing?

Silly post lad. He's not pretending anything, he does know stuff.

Fair enough, was only asking the question as I've been coming on this forum for 10 years or more and never really seen the lid post itk info. Now that you've vouched for him I can rest easy that Aaron genuinely knows his stuff and doesn't post anything but the gospel truth. Excited that there was going to be a big signing on Monday, but not any more. Unfortunately.

[McGeady] was on about 30k at russia, on about 44k here, Jela was on 40 and will be on 50 at hull if he goes.

I'm sorry but there was no way he moved to Russia for £30k a week. And jelavic was not on £40k a week either

30k a week plus bonus additions. Jelavic was certainly on 40k a week, was on 30k a week for his first year, second year moved to 40k.

No way has he gone to Russia for £30k a week. He's had his big payday and I'm sure he's not daft in that if he wanted to move back to Britain he would have to lower his wages. He could of stayed at Celtic and earned £30k a week ffs

A quick search suggests he was on roughly £40k a week AFTER tax in Russia. So that's the same as £80k a week here. So yeah there is no doubt he has taken a pay cut.

Oh. I see now.

I never lid. I'm not even sure what thread you're on about. You're the one who keeps quoting the 40% stat. I suspect 20%(or more) never voted the cheese on toast option though, so I still strongly suspect that 40% is the minority.

Also, the results of that poll are not really relevant, as it looked as though Baines would not be signing a new deal. We're now discussing the merits of him possibly signing a new deal.

Start a poll asking should Baines be offered a new contract and I bet that 40% would become an even smaller minority...

just checked, the poll's from november...i bumped it earlier in relevance to this thread:

the point being that Baines resigning isn't that BIG NEWS, it's great if he does, and if he doesn't and we sell, it opens up other opportunities.

Based on that thinking, DM's thread here can't be just about Baines resigning. Can it?

think everyone let their imaginations run a bit. Yeah it would be slightly anti-climatic but signing baines long term or barkley, or both would be a good week. could always be more, i could see it being barry on a perm with a baines/barkely extension

I think one or two people might be forgetting that we unveiled a new signing (sort of) out of the blue less than 12 hours after this thread was started. Now that news is gone, DM is informing us that a contract extension is the next bit of news.

Chill out, ffs.

We haven't signed anybody out of the blue.

McGeady's been 1/10 at the bookies to sign for us for the last few weeks. We were all just waiting for the formalities.

That's why I said "(sort of) out of the blue."

How many people were expecting him to be unveiled before Norwich just a few hours before the game?

And Alan Stubbs was 1/10 to be our next Manager, you put far too much faith in bookmakers odds.

he was never 1/10. He was at best 6/1.

Neil Lennon was once 2/1 favourite...that gave us all the willies. But as far as I remember Martinez was the only one odds-on.

1/10 steady for weeks on end is pretty indicative.
