You can still be libellous even if factually correct. It depends on how you put across the facts and whether or not you imply anything further. The overall tone of what you say is considered in defamation.

Behave yourself.

The fall back position for anyone seeking to rebuff legitimate concerns down the ages: 'be careful lad, it's libelous that lad'.

Do me a favour.

These are ongoing concerns of the supporters of this club and you and the other feller are looking to muzzle it.

This club is a shambles.

How can we be searching around for money for a forward when we're shipping one out for 7M and have the smmer surplus left over?

How?
This.

**** David Blaine or Dynamo or the great David Copperfield, they want to get round to Bill's house to experience his magical money-disappearing trick.

Sickening it is, and yet he comes up smelling of roses thanks to a good decision or two to pluck the right manager out who'll not publically ask for money or demand cash to improve the squad.

well lets see what happens, we are in with a real chance of the champions lg and all that that holds money stature ect and the chance to stop the likes of the rs, spurs and unt getting there hands on it , buzz about the club at the moment and all we need to have a fighting chance is a forward and maybe a midfielder even on loan, its the best chance to move the club forward in years, if we dont take it , well add it to the list of missed oppertunitys

...and still has his apologists for doing it...who'll then turn on the manager and players when results aren't favourable and we fall short again.

You couldn't make it up.

Yep.

We'll no doubt fall off the top five by March, and then it'll be a bit of faux anger towards Kenwright from the fans, until we beat a few 'big' sides then he'll be flavour of the month again.

Horrible cart.

You cant be seriously questioning the reality of the Other Operating Costs column in club accounts?

It's very real. Go and take a look how much it's swollen to.

Look, if you're trying to make a case that I'm wrong the onus falls on you to counter the undoubted numbers here that recur concerning money in from sales and money out on signings.

Then you'll have to factor in the enormous increase in tv cash that has now come into play.

When you do all that, come back and inform me - in your opinion - why we seem now to have hit a brick wall in signing a replacement for the departing Jelavic.

All of that legwork on your part would be infinitely more worthy than simply going to your default position of 'stop constantly coming up with this libelous assertion'. Libelous my arse: it's a simple fact = money in for the team is not being spent on the team.

It's on par with our peers, it's a similar %age of income as similar sized clubs. It's also risen in line with the turnover.

You're intimating it's hiding something that equates to money leaving the club for the benefit of the main shareholders.

An accusation that you & others like you, have been chucking around for a couple of years, without a single shred of evidence to back up your comments. Put up or shut up Dave.

In terms of the current situation, you know nothing of where we currently stand, you're merely assuming that "we've hit a brick wall" in terms of the finances for replacing Jelavic & are trying to make capital out of the fact that there's been no replacement announced before he's even left Finch Farm.

Davek is probably right really.

Thing is for me, we are a club who have to manage debt as far as I understand. So that would mean that a net spend is always going to be unlikely.

We sell someone, then a chunk of the money is always likely to go onto the debt I guess. Then if we can get a decent player with a bit of it then great.

That's always been my understanding of it anyway.

Doesn't change the fact that we just simply have no money invested from the owners.

Not looking to muzzle anything.

Say what you want.

Just pointing out what is considered to be libelous.

No I'm not. I'm suggesting the club is run like a ****ing whelkstall and cash coming in generated by tv and sale of players is going to pay off debts the organisation's owners have historically run up. I dont think people are pocketting it...that's your assumption that I'm taking that stance.

Besides that you're spot on like.

*sigh*

Without turning this into another Kenwright 'board thread', it WOULD be indefensible to not support the new manager when he has us in this position.

There can be no excuses this time, the money should be there since the summer and TV windfall and now Jelavic.

It's not looking good given the types of deal we are being consistently linked with, and while we have to wait until the window closes, it's got to be line in the sand time for anyone giving this board the benefit of the doubt.

This is the (sad) reality.

We cannot (and won't) go spending 20m on a striker, even if we sell Ross for 30m, it just wouldn't happen.

Ross goes for 30m you can bet only 15m of that would go to Bobby.

Kenwright's best tactic is selling towards the end of the window, sending out a few fake messages to the news stations that we already had money and the money will go back into the team, ultimately see us sign a player or two with around half the cash, then conveniently have the rest of it disappear by the time the next window opens. Class trick that never gets old.

This tactic of negative net spend and only reinvesting half of what we generate will never win us anything, unless we become really spawny and sneak a Carling Cup victory or something.
