No I'm not. I'm suggesting the club is run like a ****ing whelkstall and cash coming in generated by tv and sale of players is going to pay off debts the organisation's owners have historically run up. I dont think people are pocketting it...that's your assumption that I'm taking that stance.

Besides that you're spot on like.

*sigh*

Oh but you are Dave & now you're back peddling.

As I'm sure you're fully aware, the current & future debt situation is clearly listed in the accounts & there is no ambiguity in terms of the amounts owed & payments made within the financial year.

By focusing on the 'other costs' heading you're intimating that something is amiss & have mentioned 'creative accounting', you've not even touched on paying down debt here, you're merely flying your conspiracy kite.

Davek is probably right really.

Thing is for me, we are a club who have to manage debt as far as I understand. So that would mean that a net spend is always going to be unlikely.

We sell someone, then a chunk of the money is always likely to go onto the debt I guess. Then if we can get a decent player with a bit of it then great.

That's always been my understanding of it anyway.

Doesn't change the fact that we just simply have no money invested from the owners.
This seems to have been going on forever though. Just read people's expectations on here about what they want the club to achieve.

We can't continue to sell a Rodwell, Arteta or Fellaini, and only reinvest SOME of the money, and continue to be competitive at the top end of the league.

Sooner or later it will catch up with us and we will slip down the table.

That is libelous.

What has anyone got to moan about when there is more then half the window left. Know one knows how much money Bobby has got spend apart from Bobby and Bill.

It's not about spend its about the quality you bring in. If there not available and you spend the money anyway on tosh how is that of any help!
Exactly. If the board had a track record of backing the manager properly I'd be fine with McGeady, Barry on a perm, and a couple of loans to bolster the squad, waiting to do our proper business in the summer when there are better bargains to be had.

I fear we'll do the above and then have negative £10 million net spend in the summer.

I would not be surprised to see Matrtinez go to another club in the next 12 months if this financial piss take continues after this second window of negative net spend. The feller was promised the ability to recycle all cash from sales last summer plus money on top of that. That didn't happen...and I think he'll end up generating more cash than spending this window too.

He's the best of his generation...how on earth can we hope to retain his services if he cant operate with a bit of money to try and get near the elite clubs? He cant, and he wont be here very long.
