Ya know, wiith the exception that the club can use that money and and push for champions league which would essentially double the available money.

Very true.. ... We are not going to get a better opportunity than now to push for it with Man Utd and Spurs trailing behind and having it so compact at the top.... It really will be our easiest chance in a long while..... Utd and spurs will get back to form next season while Chelsea, City and the Arse will cement their places at the top next season.... Who knows with the RS...

I wish England had more CL places. Four just isn't enough.

Yeah I know..... It's ludicrous some of the teams that get in in other countries..... Every league should be represented, but at least have more play off spaces for 5th to 6th...

Random WHU fan:

"Just seen tweet from Journo Paul Smith that Everton have indeed hijacked the Traore deal. He's all signed up. Don't think he'd dare tweet it unless it was a 100% done deal. Let's hope he gets injured in his first game. "

Where do we reckon Celtic would finish in the Prem? Porto? PSG? Shahktar? Ajak? Not even tryin to popcorn at all. None of them finish top four IMO..Celtic would be in a relegation battle with their current squad.

That's not the point of the comp though..... It's the best teams in their respective leagues.... Which is only a good thing, I just don't think the places are weighted properly for all the leagues

I get that...but if weighted properly, the Prem would have 6 or 7 spots...even if it meant more qualifying. If they wanna do a European Cup...then include everyone from every top flight...FA Cup Euro style...

Various sources are reporting we will sign Lacina Traore on loan. Most of the articles are stating it with a fair amount of certainty as opposed to the usual speculation. Looks like this one is going to happen.

One thing in particular they mention is that Traore wants to come here instead of relegation battling West Ham. Hopefully his hamstring injury is not too severe. Looking at the bright side though, that injury was probably a key point in us acquiring him. It sounds like West Ham only delayed because they're worried about the injury. Their indecision gave us the time to maneuver.

Man.... They totally should, that is such a good idea... Never thought of it...

Funny thing is to everyomne who goes 'where would these other teams finish in the prem', the answer is simple, theyd have a massive amount more money incoming through tv deals increased gates and cost of match tickets etc, increased profiles from playing in maybe the higehst international profile of any league...

So the question then comes downn to the size of the club and investment, put Ajax and celtic and porto etc in the prem with the support they have, the very astute way they conduct business for Ajax and Porto and their youth and scouting policies and networks and within a year or two of mid table adjustment they would be up near the top of the table fighting it out with spurs, the rs, us, arsenal etc for champs league places.

Playing in the Prem, Celtic would become a massive massive team, their destroy a huge amount of the leagues irish support base - especially so in america where they would become the only team followed, the commercial revenue they'd start to bring in would be phenomenal over a few seasons and theyd be packing out Celtic Park every week with 60k

He's actually not that good in the air, he's a nifty dribbler, so-so finisher, but because he's got telescopic legs, he can control it where other people can't. Good second striker.

Typical quote for players over a certain height will be rolled out by the commentators,

"For a big lad, he's good with his feet !"

Nailed on.
