I was having exactly the same thoughts. Probably why this traore stuff has come out of the blue as well. You never know though they might just be trying to push the price up it certainly seems like something is going on though.

Come in for Morrato and the young lid from valencia and whichever one we of those is willing to come in on a perm get them in tbh, adding a young20-21 yo spanish striker with previous for tearing up a youth championship for spain would be an immense signing and signal of intent to build a young team that can compete for years to come

I'm not mate as long as its the RIGHT forward, why have 3-4 players fighting for a spot when we have lukaku, just need one good solid alternative/option, preferably young, preferably ours not another loan, then try our best to get Lukaku in on a perm at the end of the season and next year try to feature Long and Green into the squad the way stones is being

Lukaku should look to felliani to see the grass isnt always greener. For me the PL is the league to play in and with mourinho showing he wouldn't guarantee first team football for Rom he should stay here, most likely playing Europa league next season at a minimum, playing every week and loved by the fans.

For me, i think weve got around about £15m to spend this month, but come the summer, with more tv money coming in, he could have an hefty transfer pot by our standards and if we could sign Lukaku permanently and get one or 2 others, then that'll be great.

IF we qualified for CL aswell then we'd have some right coin and would be able to get Lukaku and a couple more class players aswell.

Im all for us signing Traore on loan for rest of season to help us out and possibly another CM and once we get our injured players back we'll be fine i think and hopefully we'll kick on and have a real good go at CL qualification!

Okay seems like it may be Troare on loan but that dose not rule Roberto doing a permanent signing, one never knows. I like the way Roberto is operating reminds me of harry Catterick.

I'm cracking one out at our transfer kitty.

“We are in a great position. Every window you need to finish with the squad stronger than when it opened and that is what we are driving towards.

“We have got money because we managed to get £40m for three players. But what is important is not spending money for the sake of it, but with a clear, long-term strategy.

“For me that is very important. I need to keep the August window in consideration as well.

“January is a really difficult window. You are not going to get a player who is performing well for his club, because they are not going to sell him now.

“It is a hard window because you need to identify players who can fit into your squad who are not fitting into other squads. That doesn’t go hand-in-hand with having a lot of money to spend.

“It is different in August. I would never forgive myself for spending money cheaply now and miss spending that money in August when I know I could really invest it well.”

Im glad he's taking that veiw on transfers this month cos its right what he says, the type of quality players we want will be first teamers and wont be available or wont come cheap at all so why not get what you can on loan to help out and do your main recruiting in the summer when it's easier to negotiate?!

Im quite looking forward to the summer and the kind of players we'll be after/signing! I really do think that next season we'll be a force if we make the right signings. Were taking on Martinez's methods like a water to sponge and with better quality added to it, we'll get even better and i think with the right type of player/players in our team, we could be right up there for CL i really do!.
