I agree, but that doesn't inspire confidence in me. This isn't just a Martinez issue its a club issue, its the club that has had a poor record when comes to backing managers. I would be shocked if Martinez didn't see the cons of playing this type of loan game but what is he and the club doing about it? I guess I should probably wait until after the window before making these types of comments.

Good points.

I'm convinced Martinez has a very long term plan. He's far more intelligent and savvy than a lot of managers out there. Hopefully he has had a lot of assurances from Kenwright during his job interview.
 

if we cant get Lukaku we should deffo go for Remy, available for £16 mil, scores 11 goals so far compared to lukaku's 9, fast, good on the ball would be a brilliant signing.

He's much younger than most of those though, and has suffered from injury and Villa's hopeless long ball game this season.

I am just not buying it. Half the time I see him he just seems to be an Emile Heskey type player. Also he doesn't put a shift in. I don't want to go back to the days when Baines was putting in dreamy crosses only for Saha to be standing on the edge of the centre circle. Doesn't give enough when he isn't scoring for me.

Fair enough, but he's different to Heskey - he scores at Anfield!
 

If Martinez is holding back 20 million for Lukaku in the summer and Chelsea just won't budge, I'd be more than happy to see that money spent on Benteke.

Benteke is class and is still young and learning in the prem and he will come good again.

He's now got 2 in his last 2 games after a barron run and he might go on the goal trail now. I wouldn't write Benteke off just yet. I'd love him at us if we could ever afford him.

I'd second that aswell pal, think Benteke would be ideal for us! I wouldn't be against us spending £15-16m on Remy either, I think he's a quality player aswell
