Idon't think city are arsed about Barry playing or not. By our game with them we will be an afterthought in their mind if they are top of the league.

It is win win for them, Barry becomes decent for us, they can take him back for a couple more years as cover if they so choose. By loaning him to us (or selling him) last summer he didn't end up at Arsenal who would have took him in a heart beat (ala Benayoun/Silvestre etc) so their rivals don't improve.

Plus the gap he left allowed Fernandhino a free run in the team, which accoring to a city fan i know has been their best player in context so far this season.

Barry is a free transfer in the Summer.

Not to get sideways with you, but I'm not sure you're paying attention.

1) The presupposition was that Everton could buy Barry from City (which obviously it could, if City will allow him to leave on loan.) The questions then are why/why not?

2) The window closes end of January. Will City be top of the table then, with no concern for the remaining fixtures?

3) If a club like City, which is wiling to spend massive sums to win the league, could buy points for a few £Million, do you think they would not? I'm not sure they are fearful of Everton, but given their troubles on the road and their recent history at Goodison, why would City have no concern whether they face Barry again?

So, this being the Silly Season thread, it means silly things can be said.

SO hyperthetical situation, now that Chelsea have supposidly said they would listen to offers for Mata.... Baines and £15-20 million for Mata? Yey or Neigh

I don't think Chelsea are needing a LB with Ashley Cole not even able to get a game.

Nothing about the lad from Ajax anyways... looks to be about Martinez daring to dream about winning the League

Last paragraph from the link translates to:
The lack of money is no excuse not to go, "the title says Martínez in the Evening Standard. "In football you just need to be creative and brave. We have won the title nine times, which can not be many clubs retell us. That means that we have the right to dream "However, the ex-coach include Swansea City recognizes that more clubs competing for first place in the Premier League". Every club in the top seven chance to win the title. This is the most open title race I've ever experienced in this competition
