Lot of talk here in Buenos Aires today that Banega wants to come to Boca on loan until the world cup - it will keep him well in the shop window for the national team.

Vélez will be watching that space, so to speak, if there is any truth in it. Gago´s return to Argentina pushed him further up the national team ranking despite what many would have expected in advance of his return.

Thanks for the info.

I'd be fairly happy with this. His 1st touch is great and that's what we need. We very rarely pump the ball long anymore so he wouldn't need to go chasing around after hopeful passes
I have said it a few times before, but he is exactly what we need, he is a possession based striker who can ..

-Play with his back to goal
-First touch
-Passing/vision
-Bring people into play
-Technical

All of which Lukaku isn't, taking the Liverpool game as an example, Lukaku or even Naismith could not actually face goal because we compressed the play that much by holding onto the ball to long in build up, which made their defence mark tight. If we are to continue playing like that we need a technically excellent player not a workhorse, and I think we can all pretty much agree that Naismith and Lukaku are far from technical players.

I think a lot of people are taking Martinez's words too literally. He may well be telling the truth but he also may also not be, it's not like he hasn't already told any lies before as Everton manager.

If he came out and said we want to add, then we failed to, we'd all be proper fuming.

Berbatov is a no-brainer at this point. When lesser teams park the bus, and we are just passing it around the perimeter like a basketball team, Berbatov will be proficient at receiving a pass in the box, exhibiting a great first touch, and either getting off a shot or laying it off somewhere. When he has looked like s--t its because he has been playing for a crap team that just bombs balls up to him, or because he was at a team (United) that had better options.

i'd love us to sign berbatov, he can play in the role usually occupied by Barkley or as the last man with players like Mirallas, Gerry, McGeady running off of him

i agree, but nothing is happening atm at all..i would of thought there would be links by now if owt was happening

Hope being back means we will probably only sign one player (a striker) instead of getting in two, maybe a second player if Johnny leavers, young defender maybe
