Berbatov is a no-brainer at this point. When lesser teams park the bus, and we are just passing it around the perimeter like a basketball team, Berbatov will be proficient at receiving a pass in the box, exhibiting a great first touch, and either getting off a shot or laying it off somewhere. When he has looked like s--t its because he has been playing for a crap team that just bombs balls up to him, or because he was at a team (United) that had better options.

Exactly, some strikers just fit and some don't. For example Sturridge would not score goals for us like he has for Liverpool, and Lukaku would probably have had a Hatrick if he played in that Liverpool team on Tuesday. Teams can make players seem worse/better than they are but I think we all know what Berbatov can do, and what you mentioned is exactly what I have just said. Spot on.

i'd love us to sign berbatov, he can play in the role usually occupied by Barkley or as the last man with players like Mirallas, Gerry, McGeady running off of him

If Martinez really wants someone then he should pay whatever to get him. This is our best chance to get 4th... We won't have this chance for another couple of seasons mate. Ridiculous

you know, i was totally against berbatov because he is just so fn lazy. But thinking about it, he would be pretty good in this team actually. Still dont want him but i wouldnt reach for the industrial strength bleach if he came....just the diluted type.

All those saying we should be signing Holtby - why?

He plays either wide (where he's less effective) or as a number 10 (where we have Barkley).

Wide players are not an area we need to strengthen and we don't need an expensiveback-up to Barkley

I like Holtby, I don't think he's been given enough opportunities at Spurs, but we simply don't need him - he can't play a holding midfield role which is the area we desperately need.
