Silly Season January 2014

If your gonna make a comment like that talking down to everyone who's suggesting a player....At least for the live of god get your facts correct first.

Holtby plays CM (deep or attacking) and also wide left!! He's basically Osman but a lot younger and better.

I've watched him lots mate and I've never seen him play as a deeper central midfielder - when I say this, I mean deeper in the McCarthy/Barry sense of the term.

Also - if he's Osman (which isn't a bad analogy), then the argument stands. Osman is a terrible deeper midfielder - he doesn't have the attributes to play as a holding player like Barry or McCarthy and neither does Holtby

As for berbatov, yeah actually, I think he'd be a very good short term signing for us. Would suit our style of play going forward and would be worth his weight in gold in those nightmare matches where we just can't break teams down. Can play No.10 or up top alone and also can be used off the bench...

All about squads and options!!

AaronTheBlue has correctly shot anyone down for suggesting the Berb. He'll be along soon to tell you NO.

Its just a 99.99% guarantee that we cant finish top 4 this season. Never mind though, i'm sure next season will be different.

You'll have a better transfer window once you accept that venting your frustrations on the web is not going to change anything. And also this is the way it always is, so why are you surprised?

the kopites considering a loan for De Jong from AC milan.

And yet we are perfectly fine with our 3 midfielders all season. Good job Everton (y)

I'll be honest mate, you can be no more confident of them signing De Jong than you can us signing a Midfielder. Until the business is done, only a small few will truly know what's going on.

Light the torches grab the pitchforks, tonight is 'bunion night' !
There's no 2nd guessing what Roberto is up to,just like the last window non of us have a clue, non of us !!

On that embarrassment must be hard to take. Must be tough when fans of other clubs mock our position on the net spend table. The reality is, we live within our means and get by on having a mixture of luck with injuries, and having one or 2 world class players performing well.

Posting useless net spend facts on a forum ad infinitum is not going to change that.

It is hard to take, and it is embarrassing for a club like Everton to continually be outspent by every other club in the league.

Also, this year is a bit different. We have a massive surplus from player trading in addition to the extra money from the new TV deal, and yet we are still bottom of the net spend league.

I'm already looking forward to next year, when we continue to kid ourselves that we have a realistic chance of joining the European elite in the Champions League, only for us to fall flat on our faces and be outspent by every team in the league, again.

Its a forum topic about Everton's transfer business - what sort of stuff do you expect people to talk about?

Just because i know that the current board doesnt show any ambition, it doesnt mean that i have to happily accept it. This is Everton football club you know.

net spend is among the lowest, but we are in the top six for player wages paid, correct?
