If Martinez really wants someone then he should pay whatever to get him. This is our best chance to get 4th... We won't have this chance for another couple of seasons mate. Ridiculous

Thats total conjecture. How can you even write this stuff? So you wont bother watching next 2seasons then?

Hes right tho.

The 3 elite clubs above us will spend big in the Summer as they normally do, well maybe not Arsenal, but considering they bought 1 player last Summer worth more than our entire squad, its not really an issue, United and the clowns over the park will spend big, Spurs will hire a Manager with possibly a clue, its certainly gonna be harder in the future than it was this Season, IMO.

That is the case every season and with a new manager and new style of play + a handful of signings who fit into his ethos we*should be improving.

The teams above us can also only improve so much as well.

hmm, that would be why people say we are "punching above our weight". I've seen people get upset over this statement, but from what that chart shows, that is exactly what we are doing.

Also it highlights what a fine line we are walking when it comes to signings and buying players. Overall, it has to be said that David Moyes proved very shrewd in the transfer market for us. At least half of Roberto's success here at Everton will be determined by what he does with signings. The margin for error when it comes to buying players is incredibly small for us.

how can you judge how many points a team have based on wages?

we could have rooney come back and play for our team for free just out of love (LOL) and that wouldn't be any sort of inidicator for how good a player he is.

I hate it, it highlights how far behind we are to clubs such as Sunderland and the mighty QPR.

It confirms things that everyone already knows: it will take at least a 50% increase in wage budget (plus transfer costs) to build a squad that can compete; spending money doesn't make your team better, but spending wisely does (re: QPR, Sunderland)
