I presume we have a max amount for wages shortlisted for the year.

We are up to that max and cannot get anyone else until we reduce the wage bill.

It is a different lump of cash to the transfer budget for the summer imo.

People forget Johnny was signed as an international defender and once was player of the year for us.

Menetioned it hours ago, Johnnys only problem was that he never got his place in our team, rightly or wrongly. So in all fairness, if you know you aren't going to get into the team no matter how well you play and you havent got any affinity to the club then course you will coast along until you are sold/end of contract.

I bet there were plenty of you (i was) excited about signing him at the time.

our wage budget is alot lower than last season

Moyes,Fell and Nev were the top earners, thats why we made a slight profit this year

I don't understand why we need to get rid of Heitinga to sign a player or two but it's 60k of wasted wages off the wage bill.
