Silva must go

The really worrying thing is how Silva is unable to change things tactically when things aren't working out.
Your worry will continue, as he can’t fix it when things are going wrong. Martinez and Koeman were the same. It takes a strong man to manage Everton. Like them or not Moyes and Big Sam were tougher types, we need a tough manager, one that looks angry on the side lines.

@matty1878 Silva will have his 50th game in charge on Tuesday his record reads

P49 W20 D11 L18 F71 A63

Against our last 3 permanent managers to go past the 50 game mark, it doesn’t make good reading

Koeman - P50 W22 D12 L16 F74 A58
Martinez - P50 W27 D11 L12 F91 A61
Moyes - P50 W22 D10 L18 F73 A78

If he loses on Tuesday that’s his 19th defeat, worse than Koeman who was sacked on his 20th defeat, 8 games later

I agree to an extent we do need more discipline in the squad. However the football Big Sam turned out was utterly hideous.

It's not great but that shows me our problems run deeper than who the manager is.

He should be given a chance to turn it around, upheaval and a new style of playing to learn if we got a new manager is only going to take time and the 'transition' continues.

This is the only problem with getting rid of him, is having to go through another one of these transaction periods.

This is why it was vitally important that the off the field management got their appointment spot on and they didn’t with Silva.

Instead of looking for someone with bags full of managerial experience with a bit of success behind them, they went for a no mark manager who had done nothing of significance in his career. Just because he was young, foreign and had a few games in the PL with two other clubs, where again he did absolutely nothing of note.

The board have failed massively with this fella again. They have invested in him heavily and given him millions to spend and he is failing. Piss poor decision making and management from board level.

Hence why people saying why won’t we just go for manager who has a proven track record.

Goes to show that the first 50 game stats is meaningless on the basis Moysie had the worst record yet remained in his job for the longest.

While Martinez had the best record and forced out a few seasons later.

Look at the position Moyes was in for his first 50 games compared to the rest though.
The ‘Everton’ that the last few managers have come into is a world away from what Moyes came into.

Just cant get that stat out of my head. Over 2 years since any team hes managed has come back and won a game they have gone behind in. Thats not a blip. Thats something long term wrong in his management.
Find that worrying

As well as set piece goals conceded... In grained in his management, but judging by some of the posts thats what some want... baffling

Trying my best not to call for his sacking......but its really difficult.

I'm beginning to wonder if he has what it takes. We had a decent end to last season, albeit we went out of the FA Cup in disastrous fashion.
So.... I thought ok he needs another season to be fair. And when I saw the fixtures we had for the first 6 games, I'm thinking we had a great chance to be up there with 11, 12 or 13 points at this stage.
We have 7 points, which simply isn't good enough.
But its not just that, its his tactics and substitutions too. We're so easy to play against and we never look like winning once we go behind. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it changing (significantly enough) under this manager. 7th, 8th and 9th are clearly still acheivable, if thats the level of ambition. Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea are all in transition (still better sides than us though), and there to be shot at. I know its early, but I just don't see us being a side to challenge for 4th, 5th or 6th (again)! This average start has dampened my enthusiasm already.

League Cup is are main (perhaps only) hope. And even if we win on Tuesday (please please!), it'll be the luck of the draw deciding our fate in the next round.

Perspective from a team that wants to compete with you - you are short of a striker, you have chucked money at Arsenal for “technical” players (Walcott/Iwobi) and your best centre half was on the bench for Sheffield United. All the best Everton sides I remember had some steel throughout. On paper your first team is at least as good as Wolves and your squad is deeper, but You are structuring and recruiting to play “entertaining “ football without sorting the defensive side or a goal scorer hence the inconsistency in performances. Changing manager won’t address these fundamentals. You’ll be fine, and will finish above Wolves, but Leicester look like the top 6 challengers at the moment.
Well, you calmed us down a bit....no relegation at least.
