Sin Bins to be trialled

They should try to make the existing changes like VAR work better rather introduce stupid ideas

Funny you should say that ….

Going before the IFAB meeting in March is a proposal to strengthen VAR to cover corners, free kicks anywhere and even throw ins

Game will be longer than American football if adopted

Just scrap it and rely on the mark one human eyeball that served well for decades

if only it was officiated as well as rugby
Football can only dream of being as well run

I remember being taught how to play rugby as a young'un. The first lesson we were told was "You call the ref Sir".

The same teacher, doing footie, told us to stand in front of the ball for an oppo free kick.

Wayne Barnes, (rugby ref), sent off then England captain Martin Johnson in a club game. Johnson; "Sorry Sir. First correct decision you have made mind".

Sin bins? In the bin.

"Former referee Pierluigi Collina, chairman of the Fifa referees committee who sits on the governing body's technical subcommittee, said the proposed trials would "very probably" involve professional football."

why would anyone listen to that corrupt fella

chairman of the Fifa referees committee who sits on the governing body's technical subcommittee,

Cos of that?

Sin bins.... give me strength. Suppose instead of penalties we'll have Money in the Bank ladder wrestling in the centre circle?

I was at the Ravens v Titans NFL game in London last month. Literally, someone farts in the wrong direction, the whistle blows.

Troy Mclure sounding guy: "And that's a foul on the defence, three line whip, no advantage, 40 down and on. And just a moment to remind you that Rusty Brown Riiiiiiing donuts are available from our vendors at HAFF time."

This is the future of footy.

I wish we had their VAR system .....

I understand what you mean. But there is a crucial difference between how the systems are used. In by far the most times its used in rugby, the ref asks for it, usually confirmation of a try/foul play. It is rare that VAR interferes with the on field decision, unseen foul play aside.

These days, footie VAR re refs the game.

Pointless change. In rugby it's significant, because a player less can make a team tire quickly. In football- where does it come in? Instead of a yellow? Instead of a red? Only if it's a yellow and the team plays in blue? Just use the yellow and red more freely for acts of cheating ffs.

Having said that, 10 minutes out of the match for diving would maybe regain some of my interest in the sport entertainment.

It’s also much more difficult in rugby union to plug the hole created by the loss of a player for 10 mins, as each player has a unique and individual position / role within the team.

Unless it was the goalie, all you’d have to do in footy is put ten men behind the ball for 10 mins.

Am i the only the one who thinks the ref deserve most of the abuse they get from players?

They are useless inconsistent and bias
