Macallan is a pretty good Speyside whisky, I actually had a12 year old out in Japan last week , long story. For me the 18 year old is a superb whisky, though maybe influenced by frequent mentions in US tv series like Suits , but everybody is different and you just might prefer a 15 .
As an aside , the “new” Macallan distillery is well worth a visit as it’s so different from the traditional distilleries, a great visitor experience.

Seen some videos on the new site, looks spectacular! I’m doing some work with them at the moment so hoping to to crack an invite to come see the place.. hence my “exposure” to them last little while.

Bunnahabhain 12 being sold for £30 a go online at Waitrose. I ordered 2 to keep me going for a while.
£30 luxury
£30 = au$ 57
The online price is au$59...so far so good, proves they can get into Australia for a decent price including their mark up
Then back to square one - you get au$ 40 delivery.
Meanwhile back at the local offy - au$89 including their mark up.

That is a pretty hefty hike.

That is a pretty hefty hike.
Par for the course in Australia and NZ for that matter.
I think the excuse used to be...back in Victoria's time when they did have to send it all from the UK was...do you know how much it costs to get this stuff?
That mark up never went away - well why would you if you were a supplier.
Take your jeans, your 501s made in cambodia or somewhere nearer to Australia than the UK, Google your best price near you.
I'll do the same.
Go!

Was given this Glenfiddich IPA Experiment today from my son. I hadn’t come across it before , it’s finished for three months in casks which previously held IPA brewed in a local craft brewery. It’s certainly a Glenfiddich , but with a difference to it. Not sure about it yet, enjoying my first glass at the moment, but I’m a big fan of theGlenfiddich 15 year old Solera . Will report back...... eventually.
