Evenin' gentleman... not a single malt but I think you'd all enjoy quite a lot, if you can find it across the pond...not sure how far their distribution reaches. For the price ($46 here), 'kin stellar. Will do you right if you're looking to change things up a bit but not drastically. Highly recommend, so much so 3 were bought for various friends/family this xmas.

Recently started drinking some whisky, far far from any kind of expert, don’t know what I’m smelling or tasting so to speak just know what I like. But I’ve bought a fair few bottles over the last few months, typical supermarket stuff glenmorangie, laphroaig, Jura, glenfiddich etc, basically tasting anything.

favourite so far is this

Fantastic that, the sourmash and the rye are absolutely top drawer.

They had 3 bottles of the sour mash on an end cap with a '1 bottle per person' sign on it....gone the next day when I went back to pick up some bitters, less than 24 hours later. kicking myself; should've known better than to pass it up, the rye is the only thing I see somewhat consistently.

Go for a bottle of its older brother Bunnahabhain 12. You won't regret it.

I’d almost forgotten about this thread , haven’t posted for a while. I started drinking my whisky neat at the start of lockdown , just for a change. It makes an interesting difference compared to having water/ice - all are acceptable by the way.
I also decided not to start any more bottles until I’d finished a few I started . This pic is from my October recycling bin. The Highland Park 18 yr old is greatly missed and will be replaced !

Thanks, whisky is usually one of the “ can’t think of anything else “ present from one of my kids. I’m sometimes torn between going into whisky snob grump mode and saying ” Dont get me anything that’s not decent!”, but as you say you can often get some nice surprises. And anyway , it all gets drunk in the end :)

Absolutely. I had the good fortune to receive a bottle of Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban earlier in the year. So when the question of what to get me for Christmas was raised by my girls, there was only ever gonna be one outcome.

I do highly recommend it.

Singleton is a lovely dram. Always been curious about the Glenfiddich IPA, any good?

I'll be tucking into my stash of Starka this Christmas. Not a whiskey as such, though the process much the same. If travelling in Poland, be sure to grab a bottle... still to find anywhere in the UK that stocks it. :)
