I'm currently having a pleasant early evening with a Booker's 2015—02 Bourbon.

60% + it virtually evaporates on your tongue. This is a small batch release from Jim Beam and a remarkable whisky. Booze sodden caramel flavours and a slight smoke and packs an absolute wallop when drinking it neat but slinging a small piece of ice in smooths it right out and opens up the flavour with a snappy vanilla and pecan hit.
Beautiful shot.

I can see why you'd describe it as tamer than Laphroaig, it's less "medicinal", but there's a lot more going on flavour-wise than standard Laphroaig 10 if you ask me. Cask strength Laphroaig 10 is another matter though

You'll have to get on some Ardbeg next, that's the pick of the three south Islay distilleries for me.
Bruichladdich for me. One of the Port Charlottles or if you really like a peat monster the Octomore.

Bruichladdich isn't South Islay but yeah, they're a fab distillery. Would love to try one of their crazy Octomore experiments but they're usually out of my price range, unfortunately.
Come on, Islay is way to small to have a north and south. I tried the Octomore at the distillery, interesting drink, very smokey but more to it than just smoke.

I have in my possession a beaut of a bottle. Glenlivet 18. Anyone had the pleasure? Hope to open soon.

Not sure if this is the thread for it, or if this is specifically for whiskey, but lately I've been enjoying a nice glass of this with some tonic water before bed, its lovely and affordable stuff:

Drinking Talisker 10 tonight. Got given a small bottle as an early Xmas present. Liking it a lot more than I remember. Says "Made by the Sea" on the bottle, and you can tell.
