somebody asked me what I drink for special I said single malt.
I'll bring you one back he said - what sort
not wanting to bankrupt him, as he won't take a penny, I said I'll get back to you
So what do I say.
as regards to taste I quite like glenmorangie and Laguvalin 12yo.

Bring one back from where? Is there a list of what is available?

It's my granddads 82nd at the end of April. For the last couple of years he's been telling me about the nicest whisky he's ever had, and I'd like to get him it as a present as he's said he'd like to have it again, however from what he can remember of it, I'm coming up short with actually finding it.

From what I have been able to get from him, it is a single malt beginning with the letter G, but apparently not a "Glen.......", he says it came in a green box and he thinks it was 46%.

I've tried google and I've tried a few whisky a-z sites, but I've not been able to find something that matches. I'm starting to think that maybe there's some confusion with the name of it, so I thought it was worth a shot asking the whisky buffs in here.

Tonight we've both enjoyed some black bush 12 year Isle of Jura.
Could he be on about the Springbank Green? Expensive tastes if it is. Spoil him.

Lidl's Abrachan (technically its a blend rather than a single malt) weighing in at 43% finished in bourbon and sherry casks and at £17 you really should have a bottle as your everyday whisky. I've bought bottles of wine that are more expensive.

Even their 5 year old "Glen Orchy" cheapo blended malt is more than drinkable. Not tried their Abrachan.

Anybody ever tried "The Ardmore"? Just been given a bottle.
