If you like that mate i would recommend giving this one a try. Absolutely amazing for the price. Bit more 'earthy' than the Yamazaki.

Glenlivet was my first venture into single malts all those years back. I enjoyed it immensely but thought of it as being too sweet and now happily enjoy my Islay malts.
The reason I mentioned Glenlivet is that I have a bottle of Monkey Shoulder and although a blend, you would mistake for Glenlivet.

Had a whisky and cheese night at my nephews house before Christmas, and despite him having a whisky collection to make any whisky lover drool. he isn't a fan of peat. So he sent me home next day with a half full bottle of Ledaig.
I was the only one to appreciate it and was extremely upset to find it is now out of production.
The only Ledaig I can find online is the age statemented stuff, and not the pale glorious gorgeousness that was within budget when it was available.

Glenlivet founders reserve can be found at a reasonable price. No age statement, but a very smooth drink and a cut above some of the more expensive single malts.

Was the cheese nice?

i won a bottle of 15 year old glenmorangie at a charity auction, its incredible.

ive been buying irish mainly recently though, prefer the taste and enjoying trying more than just the big two (as much as i love jamesons and bushmills)

A good mate and fellow Blue(of the Man City variety) bought me a very nice single Islay just before Christmas. He's pretty new to decent whisky Until I bought him a bottle of Glenmorangie for his birthday he thought Jack Daniels with ice was a good drink. He's slowly getting into the pleasures of a good single malt, and wanted to start on the peaty stuff. I'm returning the favour of him buying me a bottle of Ardbeg Corryvreckan and have just ordered him a bottle of Bunnahabhain 12 year old. I've never tried it myself, but I researched the [Poor language removed] out of it, and it's supposed to be the ideal introduction to peated whisky.
Looking forward to trying it with him.
