Sinister balloon lurking in the atmosphere

It would be easy to jump to the conclusion that the US defence system has a few gaps in it.

If China and the US are on a collision course, this might raise a few concerns in the US. If I were in Russia, China or North Korea, I'd be sending weather balloons up daily now. Load them up with weather equipment and see what the US does.

Obviously then we start releasing balloons from Europe and they start floating over to Russia. Eventually it escalates and it's nothing but balloons up there.

Whilst I have not thought this through, it'd be ironic if the 99th balloons triggered world war 3.
