Sir Landon Of Donovan

Is right. May not have scored but you don't need to when you're helping us win every game.

That pass for Anichebe at Villa, world-class, people fap over Messi and the like when they do that, convinced me that Donovan was a truely good player.

He was ace the second time, met him after the Tamworth game and he was/is a top lad too, he gets the club and it would be a pleasure to have him back full time which the club understand and are trying to do

I'd be over the moon if we signed both Pienaar and Donovan during this window. Seems to be a perfect fit, Donovan and Everton. Same with Pienaar really.

This. While I'd love to add Dempsey to the mix too, I think that would mean that we would never see Barkley and he would likely be bigger money. Not going to be greedy, bill, just get pienaar and Donovan and were happy...

I know it's been said loads, but imagine our support in the States if we had Howard, Dempsey & Donovan in the same team

As someone in the states, I'll echo this. And this is the time and the players to make such a move with. Donovan is more than a great player, he is a celebrity in the states, a household name. Dempsey is not as well known outside of sporting circles, but he is singlehanded ly the reason fulham has so many fans here in the USA. All three know the club, 2 of them truly love the club, and all 3 would be eager to stay at the top of their game through the next world cup which may likely be the last for all 3. Klinsmann would love to have all 3 on the same team for the next 2+years.

And I think they make us a better team too. While we won't have a lot of resale value, I fully expect a lineup like that will have us winning, pushing for top 4, certainly back in Europe, and an FA cup winner at least. Winning and ambition are essential if we hope to continue to recruit without being able to compete without new financial backing.

I love LD, but household name in the US?? That's really stretching it.

the US players at clubs in Europe are all the time talking about how great it is to come back to the States and walk around in public completely anonymous. LD has said he's rarely recognized in LA outside soccer venues.

Closest thing to a soccer player household name in the US is Beckham

This is Francesco Totti stood inside a coffee shop in central Manhattan recently:

If Totti doesn't get attention, Donovan definitely wouldn't.

The guy to the left of the girl is Michael Bradley, a US international. He's in central Manhattan and again there's no sign of any fandom.

These pictures were taken as recently as this week.
