We've just got rid of a superb player who gets what Everton is all about to the US. So it would be nice to replace him with another player who gets what were about from the US.

Absolutely. I love Donovan and like his impact, but if we had the money to take Johnson in any way shape or form, its not really a contest.

Personally I think Donovan is slightly better than Johnson.
I'd imagine Johnson to surpass Donovan within maximum 2 years though. His career has halted due to the little game time he's had over the last couple of seasons.
Both quality players tho.
