Sir Landon Of Donovan

This is a stupid argument. You are both correct, and are not contradicting each other necessarily. Of course, a younger player, who can contribute at LD's level now, at a position of need, and at a purchase price equal to what Galaxy/MLS would command would be a better option. But such player probably doesn't exist. At the same time, we should not overpay for him, or any other player.

I don't see how I've said anything different. No one is saying pay 20 million pounds.

If will were transfer funds Kay would have signed Landon for 50 mill at this stage! (y)

He's my favorite player (as if you hadn't guessed)! And I want him on my favorite team! :)

No, in all seriousness, I don't want to bankrupt the club or anything. Also didn't want to give up Baines. Reality does intrude occasionally!

I just us to place higher than 8th man. We need a right side. Hope Naismith gives us one for the beginning of the season. If he does and we still get Landon maybe we could actually consider a 4-4-2.

SHOCKING.

(Somewhere Moyes just fainted).

Hes coming mate, its a matter of when rather than if, i would be surprised to see him before the end of the MLS and Moyes will wait for his man. Boss signing you were bang on the money about Landon, i can see him beocming our main playmaker centrally as the years go by.

Dunno if someone has mentioned this yet, but this is from Landon's twitter bio, "US National Team, LA Galaxy and Everton soccer player. Proud American, Angelino, & Evertonian"

Those two bits made me a happy man.

Thinks its always been like that though mate, gotta love it though, the tease

I'd rather he played for us and didn't give two hoots about the club then the current situation where he doesn't play for us but acts like he does.

Not all up to him now is it? All things equal he would be here, but he is under contract and unlike some players he honors his commitments. He clearly cares though, and I respect that.

Cares about a club he isn't employed at. If one of our players acted like that, batting their eye lids at someone else, I'd be fecking livid, if I'm honest.

That's a fair point indeed.

I wonder what Galaxy fans think of it all.

That said US soccer fans are probably fans in the same way I'm a fan of Kit-Kats. They probably don't get as attached.

They do get attached, but it's not any different to Heitinga and his affection for Ajax, he still comments, runs competitions for their fans and so forth. Unless your in the same league as the other team it's not really a problem.
