You could make a case that our late starts are (in some part) because our INs are always so late and are OUTs tend to be late -- not to mention often some contentious (Lescott) team spirit unsettling scenarios -- that of course we don't get a good start after such an unsettled summer. Three new players in (two of whom are already proven to work well with our players) and nobody significant out (could still sell Anichebe ... I live in hope) would be our first positive summer in ages.

The MLS deadline was on saturday which saw no additions to to LA Galaxy. Keeping that in mind it would be highly unlikely the Galaxy would send their starting forward and captain during this season. LA could conceivably miss the playoffs which would end their MLS season late October. Since Donovan is still under contract, he wouldn't be able to sign with EFC until January.

I dunno all the transfer rules but I will assume EFC and LA could come to terms before the end of the EPL transfer date with the further assumption that LD arrive in November?

They should have hung on to Timmy until winter transfer. Swapped Donovan for Cahill and made Tim the DP for LA. The trick on Donovan transferring to Ebepton will be replacing the Designated Player position in LA. But who knows, Beckham and Keane may be leaving by then anyway.

Not unless the MLS/LA Galaxy were willing to terminate his contract early, only free transfers and loans to lower division sides can be registered after the September deadline, any deal agreed would have to wait until the January window IIRC.

Fairly certain it is based off of his destination that the window needs to be open.

Sign and Loan deal is what he is talking about I think.

Think this is the most likely IF he is going to come should have a better idea if they are still in the running and i see them letting him go IF he really wants to come.

Reading through the thread and about Landon's recognition in the USA....

The funny part is that Landon would be much much more recognizable walking down the street of Mexico City or Guadalajara. They all know him.

Most hardcore fans know who he is and who most players are.

I think I surprised the crap out of Del Piero when I asked him to take his picture with my son (he kindly obliged) at Atlantis in the Bahamas. No one else around us even knew who he was.

Wait, do you mean January? Cause right now the Galaxy are making the playoffs, and if their recent play is any indication (the DPs are currently scoring something like 2-3 goals/game), have a decent shot of going deep in the playoffs. Playoffs run through October and into the beginning of November. Based on the other teams below them in the Western Conference, the Galaxy should be making the playoffs - only question is how long they survive in them.

There is no way an MLS side heading into the playoffs is giving up one of their DPs. The longer no deal is made, the likelier January is the option. Originally he was supposed to be on loan, but based on Chico's last post, sounds like permanent in Jan instead. Think it's probably a low fee if that's the case.

Maybe January would be best all round...would get a rest - finish off MLS season - low fee for us - bit of a pick me up for us and the squad come January.
