Sir Landon Of Donovan

What is "it" Kay?

This thread is different from every other transfer thread because it never fecking ends. It's like the Moutinho or Fernandes running joke... except there's no punchline.

I really, really, really just want us to move on. He's a great player no doubt but he's not worth the teasing or the chase. Perhaps you feel differently as an American and a staunch USMWMTMSJWNRJFFSLAD fan, and that's understandable.

But I'm only arsed about players who play for us for more than 8 games every other year.

RFUS, I love you, but to come in here and post about how annoying the thread is kills the thread for the rest of us that want to discuss him actually coming here and adding to our team, which is still a rumor. So the thread still exists, and the mods still let it exist.

It's not teasing/chase when there are legitimate reasons he is not here. He is not a date. He is a guy with an actual employment contract elsewhere. So it's not like he can break it in mid-season and swing right on over here.

If you find it annoying, just don't click on it. That's all there is to it.

This whole thing will be done in two months any way. He's either coming here in Jan, or not coming here ever. Then we can close this thread and you guys won't have to deal with us mentioning the USMWMTMSJWNRJFFSLAD in this thread ever again.

1. You are not reading the thread there mate, we were discussing the quality of the USMNTLOL and it only had decent players over 30. And aging team compared to the up and rising youngsters from Belgium. We were comparing two teams and their playing history of the last ten years came up as well as the current structure of the team. This reflects the person discussed in the thread. LD is very very old, is giving out all the wrong signals, would have an expensive contract and would have no resale value while only giving us quality from depth instead of really enhancing our first eleven. Now quality in depth is all good and well, but there's other positions that need to be addressed and I'm pretty sure we could get similiar quality but with more legs and resale value with the same price. I was all for him earlier, but now we have moved on as a team. Fans should do too.

2. I'm stating in that quote that my ramblings are a bit off topic so I don't understand your point bringing is up. I made a little remark about how there's a few americans who start discussing the always irrelevant states football team and it's players who have no link with us in these threads. It just puts my head in, why in gods name, why? I'm not to continue about this anyway, just felt like I had to get it out of my system last night.

x

We have decent players under 30. There's one in particular who plays for AS Roma, there are two others that are in their mid to early twenties that play for a decent Bundesliga side, etc. We are also trying to find new young players that are less well known, but give us depth. Do you actually know the players that play for the US team? I could give a flying hoohah how the US compares to Belgium. It just doesn't matter. I read the thread, and while the original poster was making a solid point, the thread quickly derailed.

You also just called a good chunk of our Everton squad old as well. Guess Pienaar needs a walker.

I'm not going to rehash why LD would be good here because there is no point. The animosity on here continues to surprise me. He's either coming in Jan or not.

And you have made a huge generality in the way "Americans" post that is false unless you have somehow gone and counted all of our posts. C'mon man. Really? Has nothing to do with our nationality and I have no idea why you took it there.

And anytime you attach something like EnglandHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA don't expect to get a nice post back. I don't like my national team being insulted, and I suppose you don't either.

Perhaps not for you and some others but I find it quite ridiculous that you could say that nationality does not affect some American's viewpoints. The US is one of the most patriotic, nationalistic nations on the planet. You're proud of your country and what it produces, including sports stars (generalising I know but it's a distinct impression I get, which would no doubt be corroborated by numerous sources).

You're proud of the players that you produce to a worldwide sport even though it is not the number one in your country. You even support teams because of these players in some instances. Joe Max Moore, Brian McBride, Tim Howard, Landon Donovan are one of the main reason why anybody from US supports Everton or at least begins to follow them. And I have no problem with that... but I find it ludicrous for you to suggest that everyone from your country is impartial when referring to possibly the best player of a generation to come from there.

And I'm by no means insinuating that it is purely an American phenomena btw. Aussies did the same for Cahill for instance. And plenty of English people will overvalue or hype English talent beyond belief.

ps. the acronym USMNT should be scorched from this earth... or at least from this forum. 3 completely unnecessary letters when you're on a football forum. I think that's what somuchfun was getting at.

Pretty sure somuchfun is Finnish, as it happens. Honestly very few people on here will be upset about you attacking the english national team, even the english posters aren't particuarly patriotic.

I never said either of those things. Of course we want to support our players. But there has been an odd trend of late to call out the Americans posting in several threads for things completely unrelated to just supporting our players.

Telling us we are off topic
Telling us we blindly support our players coming here because they are American (Yeah, I want every single American that is currently playing on the US team to come to Everton, sure)

It's exhausting. And we are the only ones that are being called out. No one called out the Australians in the three years I have been here. No one calls out the Irish for Coleman. No, it's just us.

And it's usually when we weren't doing anything except supporting some of the best players that play for our national team, not someone like Kyle Beckerman (two points if you know who that is).

It's absolutely tiring, and it gets old. There's been a weird uptick on comments of late - probably due to the LD rumors and Tim Howard's performances.

Oh, and the USMNT is what we call our team. Get over it. That's our acronym. We have a women's team that actually wins some silverware, so it's an acronym that's widely used and is relevant on a football forum. Americans for some reason also love acronyms, so it is what it is.

I could score 50 goals in 1 match against Barbados.

I bet you could! Let's sign you up and have at it. By the way, we haven't played them in years. ;) Oh, and you stand a risk of being forever injured by the way they tackle and the quality of their pitch. Hope you're okay with that.

Yes?

Let's go! Jurgen will love you!

:)
