Sir Landon Of Donovan

He's still one of their designated players though, they are only allowed two, one of either Donovan or Beckham would still have to take a pay cut and be no longer considered a designated player. Neither of whom are likely to volunteer. Beckham is arguably the bigger name, and so Donovan would be allowed to move on.

robbie keanes contract is up at the end of the season he could replace him

so whats all this only 2 players allowed when they have becks keand and donavon.
and who do you thjink they will offer the contract to first donavon or keane

Ok it's limited to three, there's still a limit on the number of players who can have a designated player contract, the point still stands. It depends on Donovan, does he want to push himself as he gets towards the end of his career. Does he want to be ambitious or will he take the easy route?

its not just about the clubs tho, as I said MLS is the biggest its ever been and I think donavon wants to be at the forefront of that.
he wouldnt have the same impact if he came here for 2 years and then went back

as I said beckham had the chance to play for a whole host of top europan clubs but turned them all down, LA is a tough place to leave especially to be coming off the bench most of the time

So Bobby Moore should have played in Spain, Pele in Portugal and Beardsley in Italy?

There will always be better leagues.

It's clearly more ambitious to play in one the best leagues in the world than it is to play in the MLS. Being good enough to be a regular part of our team is a much bigger sporting achievement than winning an MLS trophy.

The difference between the MLS and the BPL and the difference between the BPL and La Liga isn't even close.

I would just question how ambitious a 30 year old who has played for Everton, Bayern Munich, Leverkusen and in two of the last three World Cup elimination rounds needs to be.

Having said that, without any inside info whatsoever, I think he's done with the MLS. He was magical last night (along with the rest of the squad) though.

I tried to reply to this sensibly but I got distracted by the way you turned into owen coyle for that last sentence.
