Sir Landon Of Donovan

Donovan would be a great addition to the team. As has been pointed out, he can fill in in several positions.

Not to mention, he could actually help Mirallas get better, such as learn quicker and better decision-making, which IMO is a weakness in Mirallas' game.

He needs to come back, even if on loan just one last time. We need to be in a strong position around january, where he could see himself that joining us may push us that extra bit in the last months for the champions league!

Good loan deal when we got him but not worth a full transfer right now, be interesting |January though.

he isnt going to come back to be a squad player is he, I think he will asses his options but end up staying at LA, its a difficult place to leave ask becks.

for donovon to leave LA and live here and then be a squad player on top of that, as if he is going to accept that

Why wouldn't he??
And there's a difference between certain squad players. Some (vellios) are going to see very little action. Others (donovan) would be involved every week wether that's starting or coming on from bench.

Said it before but ill say it again. Donovan is the perfect example of a David Moyes type player. Hard working, mentally strong, and a team player. If he comes here on a loan or permanent deal he will feature very regularly, and would not be a 'squad' player.

he would be coming off the bench, pienaar wouldnt be dropped neither would mirallas.
at galaxy he is the main man and one of the first on the team sheet, also the contract lengths would come into question he will be 31 in march and I cant see everton offering him more then 2 years. at galaxy they could offer him a 6 year deal as in that league he could probably play for another 6 seasons easily.

On top of that he is one of the main faces of american soccer in a time when it is at its bigger then its ever been, theres even talk of lampard going there in jan, I cant see him leaving that to take a 2 years stint here with us.

If Lampard does go then one of either Beckham or Donovan is going to have to have a fairly hefty pay cut though. It's that sort of thing which makes it seem likely that Donovan will want to move on from LA Galaxy.

He'd be replacing Naismith as our first back up, who has got a fair bit of game time this season (600 minutes) due to one of the wingers being unavailable for various reasons.

beckham earns peanuts at galaxy its his sponsorship deals that earn him 500k a week

He's still one of their designated players though, they are only allowed two, one of either Donovan or Beckham would still have to take a pay cut and be no longer considered a designated player. Neither of whom are likely to volunteer. Beckham is arguably the bigger name, and so Donovan would be allowed to move on.
