Also if Jelavic isnt firing which lets be honest, he should do with Donovan, Mirallas and Pienaar in the team. We can drop him and stick Donovan up top as i say, he can play in 4 positions which is vital IMO if we are to push for fourth. He's a better option than Naismith on the wing, better option than Coleman on the wing, better option than Gueye on the wing, better option than Oviedo also.
 

I want the man back at Goodison more than anything, but I just don't know if it could happen. He's retired from international football, he's just won a second straight MLS Cup, the guy is probably exhausted with media attention. If he came back it'd be interesting to see how quickly he would find form and be fit.

All this, bang on. Plus his obvious and open love affair with the club. He intuitively understands Everton, and I know it shouldnt mean much, but it does. Please make this happen
 
If LD wants to continue his career outside the MLS we will favourites. Would be a great signing adds so much to squad. U would think any fee would cover itself with all the commercial spin offs. I just think we are waiting for LD to decide what he is doing.
 

One thing to remember with Landon tho is his season finished start of December. He's in Pre-season mode... Hopefully if he thought a deal was gonna be done, he is doing some sort of Pre-season as we speak or it's gonna take him a month to be ready to play.

As long as he's fit, it would hopefully only take a couple of reserve matches and sub apps to get him up to speed?
 
I've been out all day..Has he signed yet ? Two players in recent history of Everton have quite literally gone to Sports Direct, bought their won kits and boots and waited outside Finch Farm, with their arms in the air shouting " Ohh Ohh Pick me me Pick me!" - One was David Nugent, who may of been another Jermaine Beckford, but is still cutting the rug at Leicester ( briefly along side Nugent) , would name-drop us in every interview and would of crawled over broken glass to play for us..the other is Landon Donovan. If we let this one slip through our fingers,again. We deserve everything we get. I've watched Osman of late, he's a cracking little fella, but he just won't put a tackle in. O.K being a Roy Keane style battler isn't in everyone's genes. But hanging out a limp lettuce like leg in front of Van Persie is not going to stop him marauding past you! Landon knows when to take one for the team, as it were. Body check here, sly leg there - stops their momentum and allows us to regroup. The good thing about Donovan is he is resourceful, a utility player if you will. Left, rightm down the middle, tracks bak, the first out when we ..hahaha..remember these..counter attacks ?!!! I remember one game, when we broke free froma corner and the only player charging forward was Donovan. He had to stop, to allow the team to catch up and catch on to what he was doing. We miss that so much, some one with a footballing brain. We've not seen the real likes since Arteta in his salad days for us. Gibbo's sort of got it now, but he's not quite at their level. Yes, I understand the arguments over Mirallas / Donovan... the old Top Trumps come out. But why not have both, wouldn't you rather have the choice to bring one or the other on and not groan when Anichebe strips off ?! Or ..Naismith!!! We need depth if we are to really press for top six..hey ..even top four!! We can't do this on our our own.. we need reinforcements and we need quality and consistency.. and Landy Cakes..has them both in bucketfulls !(y) ( Yes, I own a Donovan #9 Shirt...And wha ?!!!! :lol: )

He hasn't retired from international football.

We have BEEN his preseason twice, comes and gets fit to go back to LA.
